This down-to-earth spot in Berlin-Mitte offers homey charm with boutique hotel amenities.
The Circus Apartments is technically more of an aparthotel than a boutique hotel, but its stylish design and above-and-beyond service make it a favourite of ours.
It’s part of the same group as The Circus Hotel and The Circus Hostel, both well-regarded in their own right, though we think the Apartments are the pick of the bunch.
The appeal is in that delightful combination of residential independence and exceptional care.
It works just as well for an intrepid traveller stopping in for the weekend as for a temporary resident looking for stylish serviced accommodation.
The apartments themselves are cosy yet sleek, with a colourful sort of minimalism softened by cute furnishings.
There’s plenty of personality without anything feeling overdone.
We think almost anyone could find something to like here, though it’s particularly well suited to those who enjoy having their own space without giving up the comforts of a good hotel.

Some things guests liked:
“We had a wonderful stay at the apartment. Very spacious with everything you need. The staff here is above excellent! Location is convenient for getting around to everything you want to see by foot or by train / tram. The street is quiet at night in spite of being close to the action. The paid parking was well worth it for us in a very secure and convenient underground parking lot….”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”Don’t bother including breakfast if you are staying more than one night. You just get vouchers to the restaurant in the building. Save your money as you can still eat there or anywhere else that you choose for less money….”
