Hero Beach Club Hotel

This central Montauk boutique motel is open year-round. That is, it’s open March-December, which is pretty close for The Hamptons. This gives this motel a little more local flavor, and gives you the chance for an off-season visit, our recommended time for a Montauk vacation. We’re also big fans of the ‘yep, we’re a motel’ vibe. It’s unassuming without feeling gimmicky, and while it doesn’t look quite as glamorous the price might suggest, c’est la Hamptons. It’s not like it’s a low-effort spot, either. Decor is quirky but still inventive… > Read Our Full Review

The Montauk Beach House Hotel

One of the most central of all of Montauk’s many hotels, this spot feels like you cut the beach bar off a Dubai 4-star (and we’re not just talking about the BMW test-drive). It leaves off the surface-level opulence while retaining a certain glamour. The row of blazing fires surrounded by cushioned couches feels made for selfies. It definitely gives ‘party’ more than most of the more chic Montauk accommodation. If the old-school fisherman’s peninsula vibe was what you were going for, we’ll send you somewhere else. However, there are… > Read Our Full Review

Montauk Yacht Club

Well, its Montauk, it’s The Hamptons, so the super-indulgent experience isn’t exactly astounding, but we’d venture to say that the combination of extensive grounds, private beach and superb facilities makes this hotel a good time. The property is a collection of crisp wooden buildings on the edge of Lake Montauk. It nestles on Star Island surrounded by yacht dockings and charter companies. Just a touch of sweet to go with all the salt. If you want an old Montauk, chill family vibe and like to bemoan the ‘Hamptonization’ of the… > Read Our Full Review

Daunt’s Albatross Motel

This central Montauk motel is – there’s no other word for it – cool. It’s like a friend invites you to stay the weekend in their family’s Hamptons’ summer home – if that home was originally a motel and somebody in the family is a designer for Home Studios in Manhattan. Reality isn’t too far off. Sure, they just hired Home Studios, but Daunt’s Albatross is a family-owned establishment that’s been part of the Daunt line since the ’70s. A 2020 glow-up brought the motel decisively into the boutique scene,… > Read Our Full Review

Hotel Marram

These central Montauk boutique digs are far from cookie-cutter chic resort or even cozy mom and pop. Nope, what we have here is what a motel would be if it were designed by your high-income, voguish, new age, and perhaps slightly lunatic sister-in-law. It’s surfy, but soft rather than laid back, like a uniquely East Coast version of California boardwalk glam. Think that girl you went to high school with who dated all the senior boys and ended up moving to Hawaii. Then, let’s say she married a tech bro… > Read Our Full Review
