Boutique Hotel Mittendrin

Boutique Hotel Mittendrin is a big-city Berlin hotel but with beautifully intimate B&B vibes. It’s tucked into a small house right next to a shopping mall and a Crowne Plaza. If you want a quaint little neighbourhood, this might not be the spot, but we think the hotel benefits from comparison with all the big-ticket options nearby. And, you’re close to a whole lot of excellent places to explore. Created by a former actress, the space is designed to feel warm and welcoming, offering up the owner’s idea of what… > Read Our Full Review

ADELANTE Boutique Hotel

ADELANTE Boutique Hotel feels like a fresh version of a fairly straightforward business hotel. It’s tucked between the Government District and the much more hip Oranienburger Vorstadt, with a style that kind of matches both. Most of the hotel is simple, minimalist – simple rooms with nice furnishings in a simple building with easy access to Berlin’s many attractions. It’s not exactly the place for spending hours drinking in the lobby bar – it’s calm and relaxing rather than social, with the garden being our favourite hang out. But there’s… > Read Our Full Review

The Circus Apartments

This down-to-earth spot in Berlin-Mitte offers homey charm with boutique hotel amenities. The Circus Apartments is technically more of an aparthotel than a boutique hotel, but its stylish design and above-and-beyond service make it a favourite of ours. It’s part of the same group as The Circus Hotel and The Circus Hostel, both well-regarded in their own right, though we think the Apartments are the pick of the bunch. The appeal is in that delightful combination of residential independence and exceptional care. It works just as well for an intrepid… > Read Our Full Review

Hotel Art Nouveau

We wish this Charlottenburg, Berlin boutique hotel had a more original name, but still, what the hell, it’s a very charming place. Sprinkled with historical, artistic elements, Hotel Art Nouveau offers plenty of old-style chic in a pretty overlooked area of West Berlin. It’s a hard-to-define kind of place. It’s got meeting rooms and facilities, so it sees the odd business traveller, but mainly feels something like a hang-out space for artists. It always feels homely and down-to-earth, that’s for sure. Rooms and common areas don’t feel especially hotel-y, and… > Read Our Full Review

Orania Berlin

Orania Berlin is famously one of the few boutique hotels in the city’s famously youthful, grungy Kreuzberg area, better known for clubs, drugs, kebabs and currywurst. On paper, such an expensive hotel in such a place may seem incongruous, but Orania knows the new Kreuzberg well. A new wave of partiers is around these days, who want to party ’til dawn, grab a luxury hotel breakfast (available until 2pm, gasp!), and later take four-hour naps between designer sheets. Orania has also got a lively bar and events calendar of its… > Read Our Full Review
