ADELANTE Boutique Hotel feels like a fresh version of a fairly straightforward business hotel.
It’s tucked between the Government District and the much more hip Oranienburger Vorstadt, with a style that kind of matches both.
Most of the hotel is simple, minimalist – simple rooms with nice furnishings in a simple building with easy access to Berlin’s many attractions.
It’s not exactly the place for spending hours drinking in the lobby bar – it’s calm and relaxing rather than social, with the garden being our favourite hang out.
But there’s a nice sort of tranquillity to the place that belies Berlin’s reputation for endless excitement.
But, though not a business hotel per se, Adelante is the type of place where guests seem to have plenty to do outside before returning to their calm space each evening.
To add to the calm, business-like feel, it’s on the border between child-friendly and not, with the minimum age being 10, so at least that gets the noisier ones out of the way.
What are the rooms like?
- 30 rooms – a compact collection of contemporary rooms, all under 30 square metres, designed around comfort & tranquillity.
- Minimalist design – soft colours, sculptural lighting, textured fabrics, and natural wood.
- Standard rooms – at 22 square metres, these offer comfortable proportions without feeling cramped.
- Grande rooms – larger options include lounge areas and are particularly suitable for longer stays.
- Courtyard Oases – peaceful rooms overlooking the green courtyard provide an especially relaxing setting.
- Modern amenities – Music systems, Smart TVs, minibars, Nespresso machines, and heated bathroom floors.

Rooms at ADELANTE are as simple as the rest of it.
They’re nicely decorated, all soft walls, structural textiles, and sculptural lights.
These dim beautifully so you can have a bright room in the daytime and wind down with some moody warmth.
Furnishings are all delightfully modern, with plenty of wood accents for a welcoming, natural feel. There could be a little more fun, but then we think it would be a different hotel.
This is the spot for some rather serious calming vibes.
Standard rooms come in at 22 square metres, a nice size that avoids any hints of a confined space. Grande rooms have space for lounge areas and work well for longer stays.
The Oases are delightful spots for a truly tranquil experience.
They face the hotel courtyard, offering glimpses of green through the windows.
It’s a nice democratic feel for a hotel; no rooms over 30 square metres, nothing that much fancier than anything else.
We’re indulging in peace more than anything at ADELANTE.
All rooms offer music systems, Smart TVs, mini bars with Nespresso machines, and heated bathroom floors.
What are prices like?
Note: only children above the age of 10 are welcome to stay.
And what’s the food like? Any facilities we should know about?
- Breakfast buffet – a satisfying morning spread provides a good start before heading out to explore Berlin.
- Garden courtyard – greenery, white stones, and a peaceful atmosphere make this the hotel’s standout relaxation space.
- Relaxed lounge – a comfortable indoor area offers somewhere quiet to unwind outside your room.
- Fitness room – small but well-equipped.
- Simple approach – limited facilities make ADELANTE suited to visitors who spend their days exploring the city.
Most guests go for breakfast, a great spread, one of the best hotel breakfasts in Berlin.
ADELANTE has a lounge area and an even more appealing garden area; a relaxing space full of greenery and white stones.
There’s a sort of zen feeling to it all that makes sense with the rest of the hotel.
Then, you’ll have a small but very well-equipped fitness room that will ensure nobody falls off their exercise routine.
That’s about it for facilities. ADELANTE works best as a small hotel for active visitors, people who want to get out into the city and have a calm space to return to.
How is the neighbourhood? Anything interesting nearby?
- Central Berlin – positioned between the Government District and Oranienburger Vorstadt.
- Berlin Wall Memorial – one of Berlin’s most important historical landmarks is just a five-minute walk away.
- Nearby greenery – Park am Nordbahnhof provides an easy opportunity for a longer walk around the former border area.
- Excellent connections – Nordbahnhof station and the nearby Oranienburger Tor and Rosenthaler Platz U-Bahn stations.
- Local character – the immediate neighbourhood mixes office buildings with cafes, shops, and local focused places.
Of course, this means easily getting out into the city is crucial, one more area where ADELANTE really shines.
The location isn’t amazing for hanging out all day; like many downtowns, there are a lot of buildings that feel office-y and practical.
Still, there are plenty of good spots for a snack, drink, or shop.
The Berlin Wall Memorial and many other wall-related landmarks are within walking distance.
This is a 5-minute walk from the hotel, and you can easily extend a walk through Park am Nordbahnhof.
It also means you’ll have endless options for public transport. Nordbahnhof is superbly connected, and both U Oranienburger Tor and Rosenthaler Platz are within a 10-minute walk.
We’re not sure there’s a U-Bahn line you can’t access from ADELANTE.
As Berlin isn’t an easy city to do on foot, this kind of proximity to public transport makes a stay in the city so much easier.
And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?
Some things guests liked:
“Probably one of my favourite hotels I have stayed in Europe! Absolutely love the concept. It has such a cosy and warm vibe, great for a solo traveller like myself. Breakfast was fantastic, so amazingly fresh and healthy! It’s definitely the type of foods I would choose for myself. Location was superb, I could walk anywhere and I love exploring the neighbourhoods on foot. Tram stations were so close by. I was able to get from Berlin airport by FEX train then tram to the hotel, and back the same route. Lots of cafes nearby and quaint fashion stores and bookstores too….”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”USB sockets to charge gadgets – offering standard recessed sockets causes inconvenience to international teavelers. …..”
