This iconic boutique hotel in Santa Monica couldn’t be closer to the beach, and that’s only the start of what makes it a terrific hotel.
You’ll be greeted by bellboys in uniforms that match the bold aqua exterior of a building that has been welcoming guests since the 1920’s.
The Georgian was specifically designed to catch the eye while providing an intimate, comfortable experience.
It’s been refurbished a few times since then, hosting a range of guests from movie stars to factory workers during WWII.

- Culture: On-site art gallery, regular events, weekly jazz nights
- Leisure: Library with classics and LA culture books plus wine & digestifs
- Fitness: Gym on-site, beach runs and water activities nearby

The creator of The Georgian, Rosamond Borde, was dedicated to creating, not just a place to stay, but a place to enjoy, and the on-site restaurants are undeniably enjoyable.
Sirena is a new addition to the hotel, but maintains the commitment to world-class hospitality with a menu that rests on the edge of Californian and Italian cuisine, a match made in Mediterranean heaven.
The Georgian Room is the downstairs bar and restaurant that offers guests a taste of well-aged glamour with a world-class wine program, incredible cocktails, and an Italian-centric menu.
The luxury at the Georgian is less about long spa days (though the staff can easily recommend one) and more about culture. They have an on-site art gallery and almost daily events, including weekly jazz nights.
The on-site library offers a great selection of classics and books on International and Los Angeles Culture. You can peruse the shelves with complimentary wines and digestifs.
There is a fitness center, though you may prefer to run along the beach or get your exercise among the waves. Yacht rides are also available on request.

And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?
Some things guests liked:
“My favorite place to stay in LA. I have stayed at The Georgian a number of times and love the location, style and views. The team that work there including Amanda, Natalie, Aziel, Jeffrey and Orlando are most welcoming and diligent.…”
“Everything exceeded my expectations. This hotel is a bucket list item from the art deco details to the perfect Santa Monica beach front location. Manager Tiffany Mirander went above and beyond to create the most amazing stay for my partner and I. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. They offer cruisers to bike along the beach, the most amazing hidden speakeasy, and a view of the pier. In walking distance to the best restaurants and shopping, or take one of their beach towels and walk across one street to get to the beach. Just book it already!….”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”Hallways a bit narrow – doors from stairway and service elevator open into hallway. (but that’s the compromise for the historical feel!) Sound from elevator very audible – at least to our room (608)…”
”Unfortunately, the restaurant menu is very meager. Breakfasts are great, but there is nothing to eat at other times, which is a pity. The salads offered during lunch were an absolute disappointment, and there was no hot food at all…”
