TL;DR What makes this NYC boutique hotel special? Why should I stay here?
- Eco design: green roofs, recycled boardwalk wood, architecture built around sustainability.
- Scenic location: Brooklyn Bridge Park right outside, with uninterrupted views of Manhattan.
- Stylish yet larger scale: sleek, progressive interiors with a hotel feel more than a B&B’s intimacy.

This Brooklyn Heights boutique hotel is a large-scale eco-designed building integrated into Brooklyn Bridge Park.
We’re talking green roofs, of course, repurposed Coney Island boardwalk, extensive sunshades, and more.
The building is designed to meld with the location, with a publicly accessible walkthrough that lets you out onto the park.
Nobody’s ever said Brooklyn had bad views, but your average hotel rooftop will feel a bit bland after a stay here.
The park allows for some green space, while the Manhattan skyline stretches out in the distance.
The hotel is a bit on the larger side, so you might be sacrificing a smidge of intimacy for the swank lodgings.
We think it’ll be worth it for many people, but if you’re normally the B&B type, this might not do it for you.
If you think the sacrifice is worth the small jungle, the clean luxuries and the general feeling of progress, we’d tell you to go ahead and book it.
What are the rooms like?
- 126 rooms: floor-to-ceiling windows, expansive views across Brooklyn and Manhattan.
- Industrial-chic style: pale woods, live-edge furniture, and exposed concrete.
- Suites worth the splurge: extra service, added space, and incredible vistas.
- See each room in detail here
Rooms have giant windows and notably stylish furnishings, worthy of any of the New York apartments you’ve surreptitiously Zillowed while bored at work.
It’s a kind of natural post-industrial featuring plenty of pale wood and bare concrete floors.
Live wood coffee tables, super-chic paneled bed stands, they all add up to that je ne sais quoi of cool hotel.
Guestrooms are the simplest, with King Singles and Double Doubles named after the neighborhoods they face.
We don’t think it’s easy to go wrong with the views, so we wouldn’t worry too much.
And yet, we are super charmed by the Suites. If you’ve any budget at all, we’d recommend the upgrade.
The views are insane, the architecture is stunning, you’ll have added turndown service, and lots and lots of space.
Even if you choose the room, you’ll enjoy LCD TVs, a coffee machine, soft robes and slippers, real-life plants, and even a yoga mat for your morning stretches.
What are prices like?
And what’s the food like? Any facilities we should know about?
- Farm-to-table dining: fresh ingredients highlighted at Neighbors Cafe and Barbuto.
- Rooftop appeal: cocktails at Harriet’s Lounge and poolside views at Harriet’s Rooftop.
- Wellness focus: Bamford spa, yoga, meditation classes, and a 24/7 gym.
There are also plenty of dining venues to choose from.
All have a farm-to-table vibe and killler locations. The lobby farmstand is a perfect chance for you to test-drive the ingredients.
Neighbors Cafe is a nice place to start, with excellent coffees and picnic fare.
For a restaurant-restaurant, head to Barbuto, a West Village transplant with a California/Italian flair.
Other options include posh cocktails at Harriet’s Lounge, or, better yet, Harriet’s Rooftop.
The cocktails are great, but the view from the rooftop pool might be our favorite part.
It will come as no surprise that wellness is part of the agenda as well. The Bamford Wellness spa is a gorgeous space with a variety of treatments.
Group yoga and meditation classes are also available on a changing schedule. The fitness center is open 24/7.
How is the neighborhood? Anything interesting nearby?
- Right on the waterfront: direct access to Brooklyn Bridge Park and DUMBO ferry.
- Green spaces galore: perfect for picnics, strolls, and skyline views.
- Easy access to Brooklyn life: museums, Prospect Park, Williamsburg markets and nightlife.
Brooklyn Heights, especially right next to the water, is a great place to be.
The Brooklyn Bridge Park is right out the door, where you can stroll around and continue to enjoy the views.
The DUMBO ferry station is right next door as well. If gazing at the Manhattan skyline all day makes you need to be there, it’s as easy as can be.
The big thing around here is going to be the parks. There’s green space in every direction, ready for you to bring a book and a picnic lunch.
If you want to explore a bit more, you’ll likely have to take transport.
Prospect Park and the Brooklyn Museum are just a couple stops away, where you can really see the borough’s main attractions.
Or head to Williamsburg, where you’ll find the hip markets, breweries, and a good chunk of the nightlife.
It’s super easy by car/taxi, a bit odd on the subway, and absolutely perfect if you hop on the ferry.
And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?
Some things guests liked:
“ The view from the rooftop bar and rooftop swimming pool is remarkable and outstanding. I will never forget the view. It was such a great experience. The room was very comfortable and the staff were really lovely. The Hotel has a great location. …..”
“Very cool hotel. Filtered water in rooms a nice touch. Great location and view from rooftop pool excellent plus good sushi and cocktails. Easy access to water taxi and 10 min walk to subway. Cafe downstairs good for quick breakfast. Peloton bikes and a few machines and treadmills in gym….”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”Would prefer not to have a see through shower room!…”
”Pool is just a lap pool but that is not surprising given location and it is such a nice space. 2 hour limit on sunbeds is reasonable and stops people just setting up camp. Only other minor gripe is adding a 20 per cent service charge automatically then having a blank for tip to be added….”
