The Best Boutique Hotels with Pool in New York City in 2026

Got Fixed Dates? Let’s have them!

New York’s boutique hotels are as varied as the city itself, and where you stay makes a big difference. All of the hotels on this list are there because we like them a lot, but overall if we had to pick one absolute favorite in NYC we just might choose The Bowery Hotel.

We love the old school celeb. character, the speakeasy den-like ambience and the in-the-heart-of-it-all Lower Manhattan location, but that’s just us; there are so many great hotels on this list.

Down in SoHo, for example, the Crosby Street Hotel is another one of our absolute favorites; we love its incredibly bold, Kit Kemp fueled design.

For classic upscale New York in a classic upscale New York setting, The Mark Hotel puts you on the Upper East Side, just a block from Central Park, while The Carlyle is another Upper East Side gem with old-school glamor and a real sense of New York history.

NYC hotels are notoriously super expensive of course, so if keeping costs down matters, Riverside Tower Hotel gives you a reasonably priced base on the Upper West Side, close to Central Park and the quieter, more residential side of Manhattan. Over in Brooklyn, Wythe Hotel is our favorite for that classic Williamsburg industrial-chic vibe, with East River and Manhattan views adding to the appeal, especially at the rooftop bar.

For a more upscale, polished hotel in Brooklyn 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge has one of the best settings, and rooftop bars, in our whole selection, right beside Brooklyn Bridge Park with the Manhattan skyline across the water.

As I said, those were just a few of our favorites but there are too many to choose from, and we like all the hotels we have listed in different ways.

Check them all out below, and see which works best for you:

The Greenwich Hotel

No, not that Greenwich; this gorgeous boutique hotel is named after the street, not the neighborhood, and is firmly in quieter, more residential, Tribeca. You’re not going to have a crazy New York City adventure on your doorstep here, but it is a refreshingly calm quarter of Manhattan, and the type of neighborhood you can quickly feel at home in. If you want to stumble directly home from a night out without a cab ride, it’s worth booking closer to nightlife. But, in our opinion, a 4 am cab ride… > Read Our Full Review

Baccarat Hotel NYC

This Midtown boutique hotel meets crystal-palace is one for all of your New York glitterati fantasies. We’ll admit, we’ve got some skepticism about the brand-name designer hotel. The powers-that-be here are not your typical hoteliers, and this has both upsides and downsides. In terms of facilities, design, and luxury branding, everything is as top-notch as you’d imagine. Everything in the hotel sparkles. They know what screams ‘luxury’ and where to put it. The marble gleams and you’ll find more chandeliers than a Beverly Hills Home Depot. It’s also got some… > Read Our Full Review

The William Vale Hotel

Forget what you know about brownstones, small boutique hotels and human-sized architecture. This eye-catcher of a high-rise will expand your notions of what modern Brooklyn’s all about. Normally, we’d find a building this big in a place like Williamsburg to be more than a little cringe. Even as a hotel, it’s a bit bigger than we’d like. We can’t promise the same level of intimate care that smaller hotel would provide. Yet, this star-destroyer of a hotel still has great appeal. It’s post-industrial from the outside, almost a Centre Pompidou… > Read Our Full Review

ModernHaus SoHo

You won’t get any more central SoHo than the sleek, contemporary tower building of the ModernHaus hotel. Snuggled in a little triangular area by 6th Ave and Canal Street, the hotel rises above a lower wood-clad base, creating a unique profile in a neighborhood better known for historic cast-iron buildings The tower is a smidge disconnected from the lateral panels of the all-wood facade. Yet, the resulting views more than make up for a momentary ‘huh.’ Snag a top-floor room, and you’re doing great, looking out over Manhattan from an… > Read Our Full Review

Fouquet’s New York

If you ever wanted to go to New York to experience Paris, get to this boutique hotel in Tribeca. We won’t pretend not to roll our eyes at a hotel designed to look like it belongs somewhere else. But, when all is said and done, the design here is gorgeous, whatever they want to call it. The overseers, a worldwide hospitality group dedicated to selling Parisian fantasies, have done quite a nice job of it. This version of France is pastels and Petit fours, plush luxury done up like confectionery…. > Read Our Full Review
