TL;DR
- Central spot: in Montauk with beach-bar glamour.
- Social vibe: with fireside couches and DJ sets.
- Quiet hours: after 10pm to keep things balanced.
- Nostalgic feel: of spring break without the chaos.

One of the most central of all of Montauk’s many hotels, this spot feels like you cut the beach bar off a Dubai 4-star (and we’re not just talking about the BMW test-drive).
It leaves off the surface-level opulence while retaining a certain glamour. The row of blazing fires surrounded by cushioned couches feels made for selfies.
It definitely gives ‘party’ more than most of the more chic Montauk accommodation. If the old-school fisherman’s peninsula vibe was what you were going for, we’ll send you somewhere else.
However, there are set quiet times past 10pm and the DJs are generally booked for the daytime. There’s a very limited chance of seeing the uglier side of a night out.
If you were feeling slightly nostalgic for the glory days of spring break, but don’t want to commit to the hot mess of it all, we’ve found you the place.

Rooms are divided by location, generally.
Moonlight rooms are on the second floor, facing the pool. They come in King Singles or Queen Doubles.
The vibe is Maid Marian on a tryst with Marlene Dietrich. If you want a little zhuzh in your decor these are the best you’ll get.
Whitewater lofts are cute and a bit funkier. They are also on the second floor, south-facing, with balconies and large frosted-glass windows.
Think Paris Hilton building her lake house by herself, with less pink. .
Whitewater Garden Queen Doubles are a line of rooms with access to little, exclusive outdoor spaces.
The decor is similar to the other Whitewater rooms, without the colorful vintage accents.
Finally, we’ve got the Terrace rooms. They’re also King Singles or Queen Doubles, with the same frosted glass and semi-enclosed outdoor areas.
All rooms include individual climate control, TVs, Public Goods bath amenities, and cozy linens.

How is the neighborhood? Anything interesting nearby?
- Prime central: location near Montauk Plaza.
- Bikes available: for rides to Montauk Point.
- Shops & cafés: right outside the hotel.
- Easy access: to East Hampton, Sag Harbor & Shelter Island.
This is as close to Montauk central you can get. You’re at the edge of the Plaza, surrounded by boutique shops, potentially overpriced restaurants and cute cafés.
Like any self-respecting Montauk hotel, the Beach House has bikes you can use to explore. There’s a lovely ride out to Montauk Point, or you can simply get lost zooming around the residential street.
If you stay in town you can shop, snack, wander, or stop by Montauk Brewing Company for a beer. It’s just one block down to the beach as well.
It’s just a half-hour towards East Hampton, another 10 or so to the center. The easiest road to Sag Harbor towards Shelter Island and Greenport is accessible off of Route 27.
And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?
Some things guests liked:
“Relaxing and fun stay, so different than other hotels in the area (in a good way). The room was so clean, pool area was incredible, and staff was so accommodating. Best experience I’ve had at a hotel in a very long time, there are so many amenities available….”
“We loved that the beach was a 2 min walk, and the pool on the premises with lounge chairs all around was great. Bar and dining on the premises was also great, we’re definitely coming back….”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”I had to make numerous trips to front desk upon arrival about AC and miss charges on credit card. You could hear your neighbors slightly thru walls.(signs posted in room to be courteous of neighbors and to remove shoes to not disturb people below you). There was no refrigerator in room, only offered ice. and the tub is in the room=interesting….”
”Small room and shower. No refrigerator room for my water and fruit. Parking was an issue too many people parked in front that weren’t staying at hotel….”
