TL;DR
- Service-focused: Friendly, knowledgeable staff make up for minimalistic design.
- Minimalist aesthetic: Contemporary chic with clean lines, not flashy but functional.
- Central location: Close to downtown attractions, parks, and public transport.

If you happen to be on hospital business in Orlando, Florida, you can’t do better. Just book it now.
The location is good in general, though, and while we personally have thoughts about a Florida hotel with no pool, this won’t bother everyone.
The aesthetic of the Delaney is a rather forgettable contemporary chic with a minimalist base. It’s fine, but it’s definitely not going to blow any minds.
The most notable perk here is the service, which says a lot. We’d take a friendly, knowledgeable reception over floral bathroom wallpaper any day.
So, if you find great joy in perfectly designed pool tiles, we’ll definitely send you somewhere else.
If all you want is to feel taken care of while you get a taste of a surprisingly nice central Florida downtown, this will do you well.
What are the rooms like?
- Number of rooms: 54
- Decor: Minimalist white and gray, bold accent pillows.
- Room types: Standard & Deluxe King Singles, Queen Doubles, Luxury Suites.
- Amenities: Floor-to-ceiling windows, workspace, seating, LED TV, coffee machine, climate control, in-room tablet.
- See each room in detail here
Like we said, rooms don’t have much to write home about, but they’re perfectly serviceable.
You’ll choose between Standard and Deluxe King Singles and Queen Doubles, with a choice of Luxury Suites as well.
Everything is either white or gray, with a throw pillow in a bold contrast color for zhuzh.
It’s uninspired, but comfortable, and most of the rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows that let the sun do a lot of the talking.
Suites mostly sleep two, though there are some exceptions. They offer dining and seating areas that let the bedroom be a bedroom and the rest be a space to hang.
All rooms include a working space, some kind of seating, large LED TVs, coffee machines, independent climate control and an in-room tablet for connecting with the excellent staff.
What are prices like?
And what’s the food like? Any facilities we should know about?
- Dining: Delaney’s Tavern — classic pub fare, cocktails, microbrews, happy hour, bottomless mimosas.
- Fitness & work: On-site gym, business center.
There is one spot on-site for dining, and it’s a solid option.
Delaney’s Tavern is a fairly traditional pub serving up classics, cocktails, and icy-cold microbrews.
The drinks menu is excellent, with a wide range of tequila-based cocktails.
Check it out during happy hour, or stop by for brunch to test out the bottomless mimosas.
Much like the rest of the hotel, nobody’s trying to reinvent the wheel. They’re simply making good wheels and letting people enjoy them.
There’s a fitness center on-site and a business center as well.
Virtual tour: Have yourself a look around the hotel here:
How is the neighborhood? Anything interesting nearby?
- Hospital access: Excellent for Orlando Medical Center visits.
- Green surroundings: Lake Copeland and multiple parks within walking distance.
- Downtown Orlando: 5-minute drive to central attractions, architecture, Lake Eola, event venues.
- Theme parks: Disney ~30 min drive, Universal ~15 min drive.
As previously mentioned, this is the spot for any kind of medical visit.
What this means is not only great access to the Orlando Medical Center, but also easy access to public transport and a generally pleasant area.
The hotel is right on the edge of Lake Copeland, which doesn’t have a lot of waterfront access, but it does create a green, relaxed atmosphere to the area.
There are multiple parks in walking distance, the closest just 10 minutes away.
If you want local attractions, you’ll want to head into the center, which is an easy 5-minute drive.
You could theoretically walk, but we make no promises about weather, shade, or pedestrian-friendly traffic patterns.
Once there, you can wander. Check out the architecture, stroll around Lake Eola, or catch a show at one of the event venues.
For Disney, you just hop in a car and drive about half an hour. Universal is much closer, just 15 minutes.
And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?
Some things guests liked:
“Great location for anyone going to Orlando Health Region Hospital. The hotel staff was excellent as well as the staff, food, and drinks at the Tavern. Can’t say enough good things about this place. Not one negative….”
“Everything about this hotel is excellent. The staff is super helpful and accommodating. The restaurant and bar are great. I can’t think of any other place I’d rather stay when I am downtown Orlando….”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”It is fairly loud outside since it is right beside a hospital (sirens all throughout the night) and it is on one of the main roads….”
”Amenities are for more of a mature crowd. Not really for children if you have little ones….”
