This art-forward Winter Park, Orlando boutique is still very much a Florida hotel, and much bigger than we’d usually go for.
The architecture screams, ‘I was built after 2000, but don’t I look a little bit like an Italian Villa?’
And it does look a little like an Italian Villa, if they typically built villas for 150+ people in the middle of upscale mixed-use development projects.
The mixed-use development is connected to Rollins College, created alongside the lovely Rollins Museum of Art.
It’s a killer location for anyone who likes to wander a gallery or two.
And the hotel adds to the visual experience, including works of art in the common areas and regular tours of the Rollins galleries.
It’s not what you expect when you think of Orlando, of course, but if you know Winter Park, nothing here will surprise you.
What are the rooms like?
- Number of rooms: 183
- Colorful decor: Blues and yellows, bird-print rugs
- Room types: King Singles, Queen Doubles, Premier/Deluxe, Junior to Grand Suites
- Amenities: Balconies, sitting areas, jacuzzi tubs, kitchenettes in select suites, working areas, mini fridges, TVs, coffee machines, robes n slippers
- See each room in detail here
The design team has gone a bit far in the rooms, in our opinion, but we prefer it to a beige melge.
They installed a collection of blues and yellows that can get a bit loud, but do have plenty of personality.
If you like bright colors, this will more than do it, and we do like those bird-print rugs.
There are plenty of room types, and many of them are quite roomy. Classic options include King Singles and Queen Doubles, coming in just over 300 square feet.
Add a balcony for some fresh air, or bump yourself up to a Premier or Deluxe Room, which will have a separate little sitting area.
Suites have a huge range, from smaller Junior Suites to the 1000+ square foot Grand Suite.
Mostly everything differs just by size and extra furnishings, but some of the plusher Suites will include jacuzzi tubs and/or kitchenettes.
Whatever you choose, the room will be set up with working areas, mini fridges, TVs, coffee machines, and cozy bathrobes and slippers.

And what’s the food like? Any facilities we should know about?
- Onsite dining: Hamilton’s Kitchen, Southern-inspired, open all day
- Outdoor dining under fairy lights in first-floor archways
- Bar & Lounge for drinks and light food
- Cafés: lobby café and spa café for casual treats and coffee
- Spa & wellness with saunas, steam rooms, and full service
Hamilton’s Kitchen, the onsite restaurant, is a Southern-inspired joint open all day for hotel guests.
It has a lovely outdoor dining area, swathed in fairy lights under the archways of the hotel’s first floor.
There’s a Bar & Lounge as well, with limited food service in the afternoon. It’s a nice place to get a drink before heading out, if you have reservations elsewhere.
If you prefer a more casual atmosphere, there’s a café in the lobby, serving up delightful treats and rich coffees.
Another café can be found near the hotel spa, an easygoing space perfect for some relaxation.
They have a full-on facility with saunas, steam rooms, changing rooms, and more. This, alongside a solid menu of services and poolside iced teas, can make or break a vacation.

The hotel location is perfect, equidistant to the lake, to the neighborhood’s central park, and to multiple museums.
The Rollins Museum of Art is a 10-minute walk, as is the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens.
They both have spectacular lakeside views.

And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?
Some things guests liked:
“The hotel itself is stunning – the art from Rollins College is beautiful, and everywhere. It’s a visual feast. The location is perfect for those wanting to spend time in the heart of Winter Park. My husband and I strolled to Park Ave each day and grabbed coffee and explored. I had the pleasure of using the pool twice – great experience. Relaxing and calming, which was exactly what I was looking for. Staff were excellent – check-in was a breeze, housekeeping was efficient and talented, and the valet was quick. Nothing but praise for Alfond team! Finally, the room is lovely – the king size is spacious and the bed is super comfy….”
“We liked everything about our second stay in a 6 months. This hotel has the quintessential boutique ambiance. Rooms are clean and best quality compared to many hotels we have visited between Miami and Orlando….”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”My only very slight ding is that the shower water pressure was lacking. It wouldn’t keep me from booking in the future!…”
”The shower leaked all over the floor, this is a minor issue but irritating and potentially dangerous as make floor slippery….”
