TL;DR
- Classic style: Red-brick character with luxurious interiors.
- Rich decor: Brass, velvet, wood, and leather used tastefully.
- Upscale vibe: Lavish but never over the top.
- Top choice: We say it’s Boise’s most glam boutique hotel.

Many hotels in Downtown Boise have a straight-lines, bright colors contemporary vibe.
Which is fine, but we love a little red-brick smarm. Enter Hotel Renegade: Some kind of Steve Martin we’re thinking, to the SPARROW hotel’s Selena Gomez.
It’s a stately, building of character with handsome insides and a fresh, luxurious vibe.
We’re talking brass fixtures, gleaming leather, soft velvet, all the stops.
And they do it with taste. Nothing is over the top, and a bit of velvet can work when surrounded by rich wood and chic lighting.
It’s not the only comfortable, easy spot in town, but it’s definitely the most lavish. If you like a little bit of glam, we’ll send you here.

Whatever your needs, there are plenty of options. Each room type has classic, heritage and timeless style options, ranging from King Singles to Queen Doubles.
Suites are the same, along with Studio, Corner and Penthouse options.
Basic amenities include luxury linens, robes, mattresses, luggage racks, Smart TVs, working areas, charging pads, Nespresso machines and Bluetooth speaker systems.
Minibars are locally focused, which we rather like.
There are plenty of extra amenities, based on your room choice. Fireplaces, copper soaking tubs, balconies, sofa beds, and more.
Decor is great. Everything is well-curated if stylized, and if you don’t want full hipster lumberjack realness, the Timeless style of room works pretty well.
You’ll still get the live wood headboard, but we think that works anyway.

How is the neighborhood? Anything interesting nearby?
- Prime spot: Balanced location between Greenbelt nature and 8th Street fun.
- Easy access: Greenbelt trails and Julia Davis Park nearby.
- Culture: Museums, shops, and cafés within walking distance.
- Day trips: Hiking at Shafer Butte or hot springs at Idaho City.
Most of Boise’s Downtown hotels have a decent location, but this is one of our favorites.
Basically equidistant from the nature of the Greenbelt and the fun of 8th Street, Renegade needs just a short walk to get out of the automobile hustle in either direction. It’s a nice balance.
The Greenbelt is a network of parks running along the Boise River, connected by trails, bridges, odd little rehab islands, the usual.
It’s roughly 15 minutes from the hotel, with a handful of different entrances.
Head south on the Greenbelt towards Julia Davis Park for some green space and a trip to the museum.
You’ll find the Boise Art Museum the Discover Center, the Black History Museum, and more.
8th Street is a street (!) with a cute pedestrian section lined by shops, restaurants, and cafés.
You’ll find a cool mural gallery at Freak Alley, 10 minutes from the hotel.
If you’re on four, or even brave on two, wheels, check out the other neighborhoods.
There’s a 33-acre Botanical Garden in the East End, the local Coop and a handful of yoga studios in Northend, and nice food in the Bench.
For hikers, Shafer Butte is about an hour north, with trailheads off the side of the road leading there. Pull over if you prefer just to wander the foothills.
Idaho City is another hour-ish drive lined with Big Sky hikes, and The Springs, a small hot springs with a café.
