This boutique hotel isn’t a good base for a stroll around downtown Seattle. Ballard is outside of the city center and all the better for it.
The neighborhood is calm, relaxed, with incredible restaurants and the best farmer’s market around.
World-class restaurants line Ballard Ave, where you can enjoy oysters, tacos, noodles, and more. There’s some charming boutique shopping as well, and the historic district holds some serious architectural appeal as well.
Those who want to be walking distance from main attractions should look at Belltown or Capitol Hill.
However, Ballard is serviced by the city bus, with direct lines going downtown.
Driving the city is simple, and Ballard is closer to some of Seattle’s best parks. You can easily explore the acres of Discovery Park or make a furry friend at the charming waterfront Golden Gardens, which has an off-leash dog area.
And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?
Some things guests liked:
”A great spot. A relatively unassuming entrance door belies a great place to stay and enjoy the atmosphere, great view from the balcony. A lot of attention to details throughout the property. Internal access to an extremely well equipped and spacious gym, tidy, well maintained, anything you need, incl. sauna and steam room….”
”Location in Ballard was excellent (coffee, shopping, stunning choice of restaurants, all steps away). Fitness center, staff, pools and all attached details incredible. Very cozy, very detailed, very relaxing….”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”It felt weird having no staff in the lobby at night. Also a warning that the parking garage is a very tight fit. Compact spots with a low clearance….”
”This is a smaller hotel, so fewer facilities. There was (weakish) coffee in the reception area, but no ability to get breakfast. Fortunately there are a number of places in the area to get coffee and light breakfast…..”
