You might not expect to find Rockefeller-level opulence in Woodstock, Vermont, but life is nothing if not full of surprises.
If you picture Vermont’s Woodstock as a tiny, mellow version of New York’s flower child haven, you’d be wrong.
It’s a fairly charming, relaxed little town with just enough bustle to stay interesting.
And the hotel — it’s not the quaint Vermont style of mellow, though still decidedly relaxing in many aspects.
Having served guests since 1793, it’s had plenty of time to perfect the level of hospitality.
You’re looking at top-level, lush accommodation in the center of a top-level, cozy town.
Anyone who likes down-to-earth, independent lodging will do better somewhere else, but for most it’s going to be the best of both worlds.
