At once a chic boutique hotel and a testament to the city’s history, this Downtown Fort Worth establishment has been at the forefront since 2001.
The building itself dates back to 1915, when Fort Worth stood at the center of a booming ranching industry.
The gorgeous brickwork became the home to many a society function and a meeting place for the ranch bigwigs of the early 20th century.
And now, you can take your turn to lounge in intricate turn-of-the-century beauty, now fitted with modern amenities.
Parked on another charming act of brick in the form of 6th Street, the hotel is close to all the highlights of downtown Fort Worth.
Add this to elegant intimacy, afternoon tea, and historical charm, and the hotel is a base for experiencing the city.
What are the rooms like?
- Number of rooms: 39
- Spacious layouts starting at 375 sq ft
- Suites with added living areas and pull-out couches
- Pure Wellness rooms with 7-step purification process
- See each room in detail here
This place will force us to take back everything we’ve ever said about historical properties and their small rooms.
The smallest option here is around 375 square feet, called the ‘Spa Suite,’ which seems odd for the smallest room in the house, but let’s face it, the point of reference is a bit abnormal.
The not-Spa-Suites, also known as Signature Rooms, are at least 500 square feet of posh decor, gorgeous desks, and king beds.
Suites have the same upscale, antique vibes as guestrooms, with added living areas and pull-out couches good for small families. We’re also big fans of the bathtubs.
Hypochondriacs might love the 7-step purification process conducted on the ‘Pure Wellness’ rooms, which are similar to the others while being hypoallergenic.
Whatever you choose, we’re looking at nice working areas, giant Smart TVs, cozy robes and coffee machines.
What are prices like?
And what’s the food like? Any facilities we should know about?
- Six 10 Grille onsite with refined menu leaning Mediterranean
- Breakfast limited—ask staff for nearby options
- 24-hour pantry and gift shop for snacks
- Fitness center with Peloton bikes but no pool or spa
The onsite restaurant is called the Six 10 Grille, and claims to be a Texas-style grill, but we have notes.
We’d say the high-end refinement is winning out against the Texas vibes.
The menu of meze, pizza and small dishes looks fantastic, but we’re getting Mediterranean, to be honest.
Breakfast is a stretch, and if you like a big meal to start the day, ask the helpful staff where to go.
There is a 24-hour pantry/gift shop, where you might be able to pick up some snacks.
More active guests and Peloton enthusiasts can take advantage of the fitness center, but it’s not a resort, so don’t expect a pool/spa/raucous bar.
How is the neighborhood? Anything interesting nearby?
- Central downtown for easy walking and public transport
- Nearby highlights like Sundance Square and Water Gardens
- Cultural district with renowned museums just 9 minutes away
- Stockyards with rodeos, breweries, and live music 10 minutes north
- Sports fans can reach Texas Rangers & Cowboys stadiums in 20 minutes
The location is excellent for a full exploration of the city.
Downtown is a cute little area nice for walking around, and it has the best public transport of the city.
There are plenty of nearby event spaces, and the Water Gardens make a cute little park area you can walk to from the hotel. Famed commercial spot Sundance Square is a quick jaunt down the road.
For explore the greater area, driving is the easiest. Being downtown means that most attractions are just 10 minutes away.
Fort Worth’s cultural district is a 9-minute drive, where you can find the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, Museum of Modern Art and the Kimbell Art Museum.
There are plenty of other unique attractions in the area, including some small stockyards and sheep barns.
The real Stockyards, however, are a 10-minute drive north. Here, you’ll find cattle pens, breweries, a John Wayne Museum, dance halls, and more.
Friday night rodeos would be a shame to miss, and there’s a good chance you’ll find some live music or line dancing. The cattle run twice daily.
Arlington is a bit further, a 20-minute drive to the home of the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys.
If that’s not what you’re looking for, it’s still worth a trip to Mariano’s Hacienda Ranch and their frozen margaritas.
It’s more nightlife than you’re likely to find right downtown, which can be a bit dead after hours.
