Fairlane Hotel Nashville, Tennessee, is a stylish kind of retro, inspired by the building’s origins, the 1972 former headquarters of Fidelity Bank.
We’re fairly sure the bank was never this hip, though.
The “FAIRLANE” sign perched on top and the colorful furnishings in the lobby are sure more welcoming than your average bank, though they have retained the terrazzo flooring.
It’s a great balance of friendly, upbeat color and some serious displays of glamor.
The branding, the little touches, all have a sort of art deco flair that makes the retro vibe feel polished rather than dated.
If you like to feel a bit fancy without losing the fun, this’ll be the one for you.
What are the rooms like?
- Number of rooms: 81
- Design: Mauve tones, floor-to-ceiling windows, cozy yet elegant decor.
- Room types: Queen Singles, King Singles, Corner Kings, Double Doubles, and suites.
- Amenities: Large TVs, marble showers, mini bars, coffee machines, and plush armchairs.
- See each room in detail here
The aesthetic loses a bit of the uniqueness in the translation from common area to guest room.
It’s a mauve space, which we like, and the floor-to-ceiling windows are delightful. There’s still a definite feeling of “hotel room,” which we generally love to blame on the carpeting.
The larger rooms are able to squeeze in a couple more design touches that liven the spaces up, but there’s also a notable lack of artwork.
There’s nothing super negative about the rooms, though, just that they don’t have the same deft touch as the rest of the hotel.
They start at very cozy Queen Singles, followed by King Singles, Corner Kings, and Double Doubles.
Suites are small but mighty, with plush armchairs, tubs, and sleeper sofas.
All rooms have some superb touches, like large TVs, gorgeous bathroom fixtures like marble showers, mini bars with tiny fridges stocked with local snacks, and a coffee machine for your mornings.

- Menu highlights: Oysters, truffle dishes, burrata, bagels, and bar menu options.
- Drinks: Complimentary drip coffee, bar options, morning-after cocktails.

The onsite restaurant is called Ellington’s. It’s a fairly swank establishment on the fourth floor of the hotel, which affords some views of the city skyline.
Cuisine is New American, with all the favorites of food-loving types. You can indulge on oysters, truffle-flavored things, burrata, you get it.
Union Teller is the spot in the lobby you’ll head to for breakfast.
Hotel guests get complimentary drip coffee, which you can enjoy alongside a decent breakfast menu and a host of bagels.
It’s actually open all day, with plenty of lunch options and a bar menu as well.
Treat yourself to a morning-after bloody once you’ve hit the honky-tonks for real.
There’s a fitness center on site for anyone with a strict exercise regimen, or if the square dancing isn’t burning enough calories.
How is the neighborhood? Anything interesting nearby?
- Location: Central Nashville, 10-minute walk to 5th and Broadway.
- Nearby attractions: Country Music Hall of Fame, Johnny Cash Museum, National Museum of African American Music, Ryman Auditorium, Bridgestone Arena.
- Extended access: Music City Center, Ascend Amphitheater, Nissan Stadium, East Nashville, 12 South shopping district.
The location is one of the best for getting to know the center bustle of Nashville.
It’s a 10-minute walk to 5th and Broadway, a shopping area that makes for a good home base as you wander up and down the main drag.
From here you’ll have quick and easy access to the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Johnny Cash Museum and the National Museum of African American Music, just for starters.
Most of the city’s main arenas will also be walking distance. The Ryman Auditorium is under 10 minutes on foot, as is Bridgestone Arena.
Music City Center and Ascend Amphitheater are a bit further, but still under 20 minutes.
Other attractions will be just a short drive, like the 8 minutes to Nissan Stadium, or the extra 2 that will take you into the more relaxed, less music-crazy East Nashville.
Another good spot for shopping and snacking away from the center is 12 South, which is a 15-minute drive from the hotel.
And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?
Some things guests liked:
“Great location near the Broadway. Spacious and clean room. We stayed 4 nights and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone! First hotel ever where they poured us a glass of champagne during arrival. Classy move and the hotel felt classy in every way….”
“Comfortable beds, quiet, small hotel! Only like 72 rooms they said. Perfect location for CMA Fest! We walked everywhere & the road in front of the hotel takes you to a bridge to the stadium. So easy to get to Broadway too! There’s a couple restaurants & bar in the hotel & a cheap breakfast/lunch place right next door!…”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”I was not a fan of the shower being see-through to the room….”
”Only two small things we could think of is that there wasn’t a mirror for makeup and that the complimentary water tasted like tap water 8–)…”
