The Tennesseean Hotel is a mood-lit, velvety, glowing golden space right from the jump.
The vibe is contemporary, with gold accents and clean lines that give a little whisper of art deco elegance.
Most of the luxury boxes are checked, from tea service to turndown service. Almost every inch of the hotel is coated in sunlight and offers more than enough room.
There are also a number of transportation options that make exploring Knoxville, Tennessee super simple.
There’s no spa or pool, unfortunately, but we’re pretty sure the concierge would happily arrange something nearby.
Ultimately, it’s the stylish yet distinctive atmosphere, more than a slew of amenities, that does it. And what’s more boutique than that?
Anyone with an eye for design, a discerning palate, and a desire to see the city will be more than happy here.
What are the rooms like?
- Number of rooms: 82

Rooms have a nice balance of clean design and personality.
Artwork is varied, with attractive maps and colorful canvases set alongside more IKEA-esque prints and photos.
Nothing is off-putting, but some are more intriguing than others.
There are plenty of different room options, all plush and decidedly roomy. The Classic King is your simplest, even with 470 square feet of space.
It’s the second-smallest option besides the Panoramic King, which we would recommend to anyone wanting a guestroom.
You sacrifice 20 square meters for two walls of windows, and all the views and sunlight that come with.
There are Double Kings and Queens for larger groups, but we have to come down on the side of the suites.
Even your “average” 1-Bedroom Suite is happy to accommodate four guests, while the specialty Pat Summit Suite is also set up with a king and sofa bed.
The Governor’s Suite, at 1600+ square feet, is the obvious point of opulence, with an 8-person dining table, baby grand, and fireplace.
Wherever you stay, you’ll enjoy large TVs (you’ll need a Netflix or Hulu account for streaming), robes and slippies, Keurig machines, mini fridges, and working areas.
