Its par excellence is mainly backed by years of top-notch service, meaning a stay at The Rittenhouse places you among a pantheon of discerning Philly hotel-goers.

The current hotel building encompasses the original Beaux-Arts mansion, originally a residence for David Rittenhouse himself.
Through history, the mansion served as much more, including a Church headquarters and even an Academy attended by auteur actor Lionel Barrymore.
Renovations lasting from 1970 to 1989 created an iconic hotel designed specifically for lovely views over the park.

And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?
Some things guests liked:
”Doesn’t get any better than this. Spacious cozy room. Felt like a suite. Location right in the heart of the square. Staff super helpful. First class all the way….”
”The Rittenhouse hotel is a first rate memorable experience. The location is prime, the rooms are well designed with beautiful furnishings, well stocked with every convenience, a table for two for in room dining overlooking beautiful park views, plus a large desk and comfortable office chair also situated in front of a window with great views, the bathrooms have large full bathtubs plus a full shower with ample towels, and comfy white robes in a lighted closet with adjacent vanity, if we didn’t have a family occasion to attend while there we never would have left the room, the beds are so comfortable, the staff are very attentive and display a sense of courtesy I thought had not existed anymore, they went out of their way to be helpful from the front door men to the front desk staff to the concierge and everyone in between….”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”Bar closed early 11:30….”
”Breakfast buffet was a bit basic and I suspect under used. it is really geared to ordering from the menu where everything was fresh and plenty of choice….”
