Some people like their vacations like the MET likes its Galas – exclusive. Philadelphia’s Fitler Club, in the oasis-like Fitler Square, is MET Gala level boutique hotel.
Think a slightly more democratic take on the Soho House members-only model. This private social center offers temporary membership to those staying at the club’s 14 available rooms and suites.
A distinctly chic aesthetic further distinguishes the Fitler Club from the established kings of ultra-premium accommodation, leaving your average Soho House looking more than a little old-fashioned.
It’s younger in many ways – a well-curated art collection, for example, is supplemented by an artist-in-residence program.
It’s these little touches that make the Fitler Club feel like Soho’s flirty younger brother.
There’s one way the hotel is not exclusive at all, and it’s our favorite thing about it.
In an entire club that clearly prides itself on giving a range of services, amenities and opportunities, there’s always something to make everyone happy to be there.

How is the neighborhood? Anything interesting nearby?
- Riverside location provides calm while still central
- Fitler Square park with antique fountain and low tourist traffic
- Nearby highlights include Mütter Museum, Liberty Bell, Museum of Art, and Reading Terminal Market
- Walkable to Rittenhouse Square and most business districts
- Easy transport with cabs and metro within walking distance
Fitler Club sits riverside, at a gorgeous spot in the center of town that is sheltered from a lot of the rest of the city bustle by sheer will, rather than distance.
This allows for a lovely balance of relaxation and access to Philly’s many highlights.
Fitler Square is home to a charming park with an antique fountain that acts as a main draw to a fairly tourist-free space.
Those who like a little weirdness in their sightseeing should not miss The Mütter Museum, part of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia.
Famed Rittenhouse Square is walking distance, as are most places of business, making it the perfect place for a member’s club, and not a bad spot for a hotel.
Tourism highlights like the Liberty Bell, the Museum of Art and Reading Terminal Market are an easy distance.
The Club is set on a busy street, so catching a cab won’t be difficult. The nearest metro stop is a rather picturesque walk across the river.
And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?
Some things guests liked:
”Incredible facilities, very friendly and helpful staff! The rooms are massive!! Very cool design throughout. But of course the gem is the giant gym with fascinating views over the river – a dream place to exercise!…”
”Forget the Four Seasons this is the premier hotel. Our stay started with an excellent welcome at the front desk but more was to come. The room was amazing and immaculately clean. The service all around is second to none here the staff is beyond amazing. Oh yeah and breakfast was a home run along with our wonderful server. The amenities here are top notch as well you will not find a close 2nd place elsewhere. We will definitely be back….”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”Be careful of the holds they put on your card / cards. It was due to be $250 hold but we had over $1500 held at one point for no reason at all. This was frustrating and I couldn’t get a reply via messenger / booking.com for a while regarding this but Breanna was very helpful in trying to resolve it once she found out. Thank you again to Bre…..”
”The duvet had a large blood stain (!), the shower head fell apart in my hand, the sofa was covered in stains, the floor was covered in long black hairs, and the housekeeper walked into the room early in the morning when I was in the bathroom despite the Do Not Disturb sign…..”
