Hotel Lucia is a boutique hotel that goes the extra mile to connect guests with the pulse of the city.
In this case it means world-class food & drink, local handmade arts & crafts, and souvenirs. Hotel Lucia has partnerships with half a dozen local businesses in these fields.
It’s been a hotel since 1909, and while nothing really feels 100+ years old, the hotel definitely has hints of an old-world, calm elegance.
We especially love the lobby, which is gorgeously furnished and home to a stunning art collection, including the works of famed Oregon photographer David Hume Kennerly.
What are the rooms like?
- Number of rooms: 128
- Design style: Calm, muted tones with thoughtful details and a warm, homey feel.
- Room options: From compact 165 sq ft spaces to a 725 sq ft penthouse suite.
- Bathrooms: Clean, classic, with robes, pale tiles, and Lather amenities.
- See all rooms in detail here on the booking page
Hotel Lucia isn’t a come-look-at-me sort of design space. Colors just muted enough to make them classy, lights are low, and the intricate details feel like part of the structure of the space rather than an added feature. It’s like the hotel ate the design manual rather than read it.
Rooms are cool gray with wooden accents and honey-colored touches that keep them warm and friendly without feeling chaotic.
They’re well-supplied with the standard amenities like a nice-sized TV, tea and coffee makers, Bluetooth speakers and working areas with desks.
They range from 165 square feet for solo or one-night travelers to a seriously spacious 725 square foot Penthouse suite.
The Junior suites hit the sweet spot (pun intended) with King-size beds, a seating area, a nice mini bar, and two bathrooms.
Bathrooms themselves are clean and classically-designed, with plush robes, pale tiles and Lather bath amenities.

”Really nice boutique hotel with lots of charm. They moved our room without issue to an alternate when our first room was right near the lift. Have free beer hour between 5-6pm and offered free ice blocks on one of the warmer days when we were there….”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”Bathroom is small, but it’s an old building and this is to be expected. This wasn’t close to being a deal breaker for return visits…..”
