TL;DR
- Unique style: A quirky mix of luxury, retro kitsch, and charm
- Comfortable rooms: Plush accommodations with modern touches
- Onsite spa: Gervais Day Spa & Salon for treatments and relaxation
- Convenient location: Directly connected to Eugene’s top mall courtyard

This mall/boutique hotel mashup in Downtown Eugene has an almost Twilight Zone-esque combination of genuine luxury, Y2K kitsch and beige upper class twit. In the best of ways.
Nothing makes a millennial feel old like the retro charm of the 90s (except maybe Twilight Zone references), but here we are.
Generational angst notwithstanding, you don’t have to try to enjoy yourself here. Everything comes easily, from the plush rooms to the courtyard-style mall next door.
It’s a bit corporate-chic, but in an old-fashioned way that makes it somehow charming.
The best part, however, is that the charm goes beyond the surface. With an impressive selection of amenities, including an onsite spa, you’ll find an easygoing but committed level of comfort.
What are the rooms like?
- Number of rooms: 70
- Room options: Deluxe King, Double Queen, or Balcony King
- Balcony upgrade: Furnished patios available in select rooms
- Luxury touches: Italian linens, pillow menu, bathrobes, fireplaces in some rooms
- See each room in detail here
Your most basic room is pretty lush, a Deluxe King with a little reading nook by the window.
Double Queens have either a nook or a step-out, and your fanciest option is the Balcony King, featuring a furnished patio.
In our opinion, the balcony upgrade is entirely worth it, but there’s litrally no way to feel uncomfortable.
All rooms have the same lovely Italian linens, a pillow menu and plush bathrobes. You’ll also enjoy a 55-inch TV, a cute little butler pantry and mini fridges.
Select rooms have fireplaces, and some (but not all) are pet-friendly.
The decor is not mind-blowing, but it has personality. Pale wood furnishings and cream-colored textiles set against burgundy accents give the perfect balance of light and richness.
We especially like the weird nooks above some of the beds, filled with little art installations that may or may not tie in with the rest of the decor.

And what’s the food like? Any facilities we should know about?
- Dining: Marché restaurant with French-inspired seasonal menu
- Extra perks: Complimentary wine on arrival, cruiser bikes to explore
- Wellness: Gervais Day Spa & Salon with full spa treatments
- Business & events: Multiple centers and large event spaces
- Fitness: 24-hour gym available
You’re spitting distance from the mall courtyard, so we can count the entire mall as a facility.
The hotel agrees, especially as they are partnered with some of the mall businesses.
The most obvious among these is Marché, a french-inspired dinner joint with a seasonal menu.
They also have weekend brunch, but you’ll have to source breakfast elsewhere. There’s a café (and a distillery!) in the market.
Beyond food, you’ve also got a 24-hour gym, many business centers, and large event space.
Complimentary cruiser bikes let you zoom around Eugene like a local (just make sure you lock ’em up like a local).
Our favorite, of course, is the complimentary glass of wine you’ll receive on arrival.
But really, the main gem is the Gervais Day Spa & Salon. They’ve got cuts, color and texture at the salon, and a menu of facials, massages and nails at the spa.
How is the neighborhood? Anything interesting nearby?
- Central location: In the heart of downtown Eugene
- Shopping: Directly connected to the city’s top mall
- Culture: Farmers’ markets, library, and bookstores nearby
- Outdoors: Walkable to Skinner Butte Park and Willamette River
- Day trips: Easy access to Ridgeline Trail, Spencer Butte, and Mount Pisgah
Middle of downtown Eugene, next to its top shopping destination? It would be hard to do better.
Eugene might not be the apex of commercial travel, but this 5th Avenue still has plenty of stores to check out, bars to visit, restaurants to snack at.
There’s a winter farmer’s market, a spacious and good-looking library, and plenty of bookstores for the studious traveler.
North towards Skinner Butte Park, you’ll find a few museums, and the Willamette River walk. The entrance is less than 10 minutes walking from the hotel.
The outdoors, to nobody’s surprise, is where Eugene really hits its stride. There are paths along the river for miles, a super-charming crossing over Peter DeFazio Bridge, and breweries all around.
For the best hiking, you might want a vehicle. The Ridgeline trail and Spencer Butte are both 15-minute drives.
Those who want to explore a little further can make the easy 20 minutes towards Mount Pisgah.
The hour-and-change up towards Salem and Silver Falls State Park makes a delightful day trip.
And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?
Some things guests liked:
“The staff went above and beyond making us feel welcomed and special. The room was unique and comfortable, and the area was fun to walk around. Looking forward to staying here again….”
”Absolutely beautiful property and amazing staff. Our stay was unexpectedly extended due to a flight delay and the staff was fantastic helping us extend our room. We can’t say enough about the service and personal touches this property offers. Great location with some amazing food options in walking distance as well!! Look forward to staying at this property again….”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”They could provide better coffee….”
”The only reason I didn’t give a 5 star review was because someone above made noise all the time. I thought the rooms were sound proof….”
