This boutique hotel in the center of Bend, OR is a nice combination of modern design, stately classics, and easy luxury.
From the red-brick facade to the chic leather, wood, and stone of the foyer, it’s a class-act of casual elegance.
The Oxford Collection is a group of hotels and suites housed throughout California and the Pacific Northwest.
They all boast a certain level of luxury, the Bend location no exception. As with many smaller, local hotel groups, they also more or less have their finger on the pulse.
The hotel understands what makes a visit to Bend enjoyable, exciting and comfortable. They provide it without too much fanfare, and just a little extra indulgence.
What are the rooms like?
- Number of rooms: 59 total rooms and suites.
- Sleek design: Neutral tones with modern art accents.
- Comfort features: Pillow menu, cozy beds, and local bath products.
- Room options: Doubles, Kings, Deluxe, and Mountain View Suites.
- Extras: Soap menu, French press coffee, and climate control.
- See each room in detail here
Rooms are a bit more hotel-y than we typically go for, but the sleek simplicity is the same tone as the common areas, and it brings the hotel together nicely. Suites have a little more personality.
As you might expect, it’s a lot of white, gray, and tan. There is some easy-viewing art on the walls that add a little spirit, and we especially like the tree-branch print screen partitions.
The quality is top-notch; beds are super-cozy, and you’ll enjoy a pillow menu and locally-sourced bath products.
There’s a huge variety in accommodation, with plenty of options for groups. Queen Doubles, Deluxe Kings and all Suites but the Mountain View can easily house four.
For couples and solo travelers, that Mountain View Suite is quite nice, like a little studio apartment designed by your cousin who lived in New York for a year and a half.
Whatever you choose, you’ll enjoy individual climate control, a TV, fridge, and French press with locally roasted coffees.
Bathrooms are especially nice, with showers, tubs, and cozy robes. And there’s also a soap menu – not something we come across every day – featuring handcrafted products from the Bend Soap Company.

And what’s the food like? Any facilities we should know about?
- On-site dining: ROAM restaurant with patio and live music.
- In-room dining: Private meals available in your suite.
- Wellness perks: Fitness center, sauna, steam room, and hot tub.
- Unique extras: Turntables, vinyl, and loaner guitars.
- Seasonal fun: Cruiser bikes and outdoor gear rentals.
The on-site restaurant, ROAM, is a great piece of hotel-adjacent dining, one that connects the Oxford to the city.
It delivers excellent service to locals and guests alike, ideally out on the street-level patio, where you can eat, drink, people-watch and enjoy live music.
Those who want to feel more secluded can also enjoy in-room dining.
Other facilities include meeting and conference rooms, and a superb Peloton-equipped fitness center connected to a sauna, steam room and hot tub.
Turntables and vinyl are provided on request, as well as loaner guitars for anyone who can’t go more than a few days without serenading/testing the patience of their travel companions.
The hotel has the loaner system perfected, in our opinion. In the right season, you’ll also have access to cruisers to get you around town.
If you’re looking for more outdoor equipment, rentals, and the likes, ask the concierge. You’ll find them ready and willing.

The neighborhood is packed with the same, including bookstores, art galleries, and other chances at some local shopping. The Deschutes Historical Museum will give you some local context, less than a ten-minute stroll away.
The main draw of Bend is the natural beauty and the ample number of ways to enjoy it.
Bend is full of small riverside parks with tiny trails to wander, or you can head further for More Extreme Adventures.
Check with the concierge for activites and rentals.
The hotel sits on the Eastern side of the Deschutes river, near Drake Park and Mirror Pond, a wider area of the river with a super-charming wooden bridge that takes you to the other side.
The bridge is a ten-minute walk from the hotel, and once you’ve crossed there’s a lively area of Newport Ave another 10 minutes away where you can grab a coffee or a snack and set out to wander west of the river.
In roughly 20 minutes, you can drive to the Badlands Wilderness for easy hiking. Bachelor Mountain and the Deschutes National Forest are more like half an hour, a bit more challenging.
