This contemporary Short North, Columbus boutique is a put-together place perfect for a stylish vacation in a stylish part of town.
If you were heading to an Arts District for grungy creative charm, we’ll have to disappoint you. Short North is on the other end of an upscale development project.
This shows in the hotel. It’s fully branded, as are many hotels in the area. The building is unique, window-coated and sleek.
They’ve made it to fit into the clean lines and wide streets of the area, with plenty of brick that speaks to the older buildings around.
Inside you’ll find bright, chic rooms and common areas coated in art.
Indeed, the hotel might have more art than the rest of the neighborhood. Some are from Ohio-connected artists, others the collection of Ron and Ann Pizzuti.
We’d be remiss to pretend that we love the trendy Short North style, but if you like the vibes, this hotel matches perfectly.
If you’d like to wander inside and look at beautiful things, wander outside and eat and drink beautiful things, you could do much worse.
What are the rooms like?
- Number of rooms: 135 total.
- Stylish design: Wood headboards, bright whites, and large windows.
- Modern bathrooms: Floor-to-ceiling white tile, soaking tubs in suites.
- Variety: King singles, Queen doubles, and larger suites with views.
- Amenities: Coffee machine, TV, fridge, workspace, and seating.
- See each room in detail here
Rooms, we happily admit, are pretty lovely takes on a classic hotel room.
The super-cool wood headboards transform the space, with cheerfully white bedspreads and plenty of window.
Bathrooms have that now-popular floor-to-ceiling white tile that we still haven’t gotten over.
Our only complaint is the carpet, but that’s a common one we’ll save for something truly ugly. The carpets here are FINE, but we uphold the preference for a naked floor.
Classic guest rooms come in King Singles and Queen Doubles, some with pretty excellent views of the city.
Suites have varying levels of delxue-ness, determined mostly by size. That is where you’ll get your hands on a soaking tub, however, so if it’s in budget, we say you indulge.
All rooms include a coffee machine, TV, mini fridge, working space, and some kind of seating. It might be a pretty standard armchair, it might be a daybed and a recliner.
