The StateView Hotel sits in a gorgeous green area of Southwest Raleigh and offers peace and relaxation but with easy access to lots of nearby activities.
The location is one of the best parts, actually, the proximity to green spaces a nice way to experience how Raleigh is far more in touch with nature than most cities.
The StateView itself is part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, and so has more than a tinge of corporate.
It’s also a bit bigger than most of our favorite hotels. If you want an intimate stay, we’d recommend looking somewhere else.
The StateView works its magic as a resort-y, green oasis in the middle of the city.
With an onsite restaurant, acres of trails, a golf course, and multiple lakes accessible, you could do the whole thing without ever setting foot on a city block.
What are the rooms like?

- Room types: King Singles, Queen Doubles, Corner Kings, and Suites with seating areas.
- Amenities: Independent climate control, large TVs, walk-in showers, daybeds, and posh touches in Suites.
- See each room in detail here
Rooms are actually a bit more lively than the common areas would suggest.
They range from King Singles, with corner options, through Queen Doubles and a few options for suites.
The decor is pretty standard hotel, but in a serene, upscale way.
The architecture is lovely, with huge windows that open onto lush woods. Daybeds next to them make an ideal little reading nook. Fantasy unlocked.
Once you get into the Suites, the carpeting (thankfully) goes away, and you’re left with some pretty posh lodgings.
It’s all dark wood and soft blues and intricate light fixtures.
Whatever you choose, you’ll get independent climate control, large TVs, walk-in showers, and some kind of seating area.

And what’s the food like? Any facilities we should know about?
- Dining: Flask & Beaker farm-to-table restaurant, breakfast to dinner, cocktails until 11, room service until 10.
- Leisure & fitness: Heated saltwater pool, golf course, 24-hour fitness center.
- Outdoor options: Trails, lakes, and deck seating for views and relaxation.
The onsite restaurant, Flask & Beaker, is a farm-to-table situation looking out onto the gorgeous scenery. The deck seating looks over the hotel pool.
It’s worth a visit for the view alone, but we’d say it’s a good idea to check out the food and drink.
With so many local ingredients, it’ll be hard not to find something to like.
The restaurant is open from breakfast to dinner, with cocktails flowing until 11. You can also snag room service anytime before 10.
Also at the hotel is a lovely heated saltwater pool, surrounded by lounge chairs, perfect for catching the North Carolina sun.
Active guests can either head towards the golf course or check out the 24-hour fitness center.

The location is a definite perk for anyone who likes some outside time.
You’re sitting right on the edge of Lake Raleigh, surrounded by trails, disc golf courses, actual golf courses, and a good chunk of the North Carolina State University campus.
Raleigh is a great place for green space anyway, but this is the center of the downtown-adjacent parks.
Dix Park is a 45-minute walk through the park, past the Dorothea Dix Sunflower Field, or less than a 10-minute drive if you’ve taken advantage of the hotel’s free parking.
If you drive, you’ll pass the local Farmer’s Market, Trophy Brewing & Taproom. Both are worth a stop-by.
Or, you can head downtown easily.
The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, the State Capitol and lots of cool historic sites create a little campus of cultural attractions right in the center of the city.
It’s a 10-minute drive from the hotel.
If you want to mix nature and culture, take the 15-minute drive to the North Carolina Museum of Art.
You’ll find some incredible works of art next to a lovely set of walking trails and an amphitheater.
