TL;DR
- Quirky location: Midtown Greensboro, near shopping and suburban spots
- Distinctive design: Bold, colorful interiors and stylish common areas
- Intimate yet spacious: 48-room layout feels well-managed and friendly
- Car recommended: Best enjoyed with a vehicle for local attractions

This hotel is another of the cadre of unique accommodation options in the extended mall that is Midtown Greensboro, North Carolina.
Across the street from a tire repair shop, you’ll be walking distance from the Verizon store and an Outback Steakhouse.
The hotel itself is meticulous design meets the most boring sides of urban living. We like to think it would work well as the set of a Wes Anderson remake of Memento.
It’s definitely one of those that works best once you’re immersed. The size is excellent, not overly personal but easy to navigate and intimate enough to feel taken care of.
Common areas are clean, sharp and stylish. Rooms have a lot of bold decor that isn’t quite our speed, but we like that there’s a vision. Keep an eye out for Owen Wilson.
You’ll need either a love of odd suburban spaces or a car to get the good with minimal bad.
But, if it’s your speed, you’ll find it well done and, true to midwestern form, delightfully friendly.
What are the rooms like?
- Number of rooms: 48
- Room styles: King Singles, Queen Doubles, Deluxe Kings
- Decor: Colorful furnishings, bold murals, relaxing blues, greens, and yellows
- Amenities: Large TVs, cozy robes & slippers, Lavazza Espresso Machines, mini fridge
- Special features: Some rooms with bathtubs; murals are artistic but slightly AI-feel
- See each room in detail here
Rooms are a lovely change from your typical hotel room, with nicely selected colorful furnishings and bold wall murals above the bed.
It’s a nice choice of blues and greens and bright yellows, which is relaxing without being boring.
In our opinion, the murals are a bit AI-generated in feel. We’d love to see what some local artists could do.
But they get the job done, and we certainly prefer this to standard cookie-cutter hotel rooms. Plus, no carpeting.
Room types are simple, but also get the job done. You’ve got King Singles, Queen Doubles, and a few Deluxe Kings that offer a bit more space.
Some options include bathtubs, so if you’re one for a soak, make sure to chat with the front desk.
All rooms include large TVs, cozy robes and slippers, Lavazza Espresso Machines, and a mini fridge.
What are prices like?
And what’s the food like? Any facilities we should know about?
- Food: Continental breakfast included; Bistro offers snacks and drinks
- Hangout space: Bar & bistro. Their herby paloma gets a rec.
- Facilities: Fitness center, free parking
Your booking does include a kind of continental breakfast, but it’s not much to write home about.
Luckily, there are paid breakfast options at the onsite Bar & Bistro. There aren’t many options, but they’re solid classics and pretty reasonably priced for a hotel.
You’ll also be able to stop by for drinks and snacks. There’s not much in the way of food, but what’s there is nice snacking, and the drinks are great.
Indeed, for the location, the bar is one of the cuter spots, and we’d recommend their herby paloma to round out your evening.
If you’re more active as a traveler, you’ll enjoy the onsite fitness center and free parking.
How is the neighborhood? Anything interesting nearby?
- Suburban mall area: Not ideal for strolling; best with a car
- Nearby amenities: Shopping, Regal Cinema, Battleground Ave eateries
- Green spaces: Botanical Garden, Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden, Lake Daniel Greenway (~6 min drive)
- Downtown: UNC Campus, Weatherspoon Art Museum, Greensboro History Museum (~10 min drive)
We’ll be honest: the location isn’t good, but it probably doesn’t deserve too much snark.
If you want to be strolling around a cute neighborhood, though, don’t stay at the Denim.
If you want to stay next to a shopping mall, it works great, though. And, if you’ve got a car and want a convenient space to spend the night, it’s great.
There are important roads and main thoroughfares nearby, and across the highway, you’ll find some cute spaces around Battleground Ave.
Head west towards the meadow of stores in the nearby mall if you’d like an extended shop. There’s a Regal Cinema nearby as well.
Green space isn’t too hard, either, if you’ve got wheels.
You’ll be 6 minutes from the Botanical Garden and the Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden. Connecting to the Lake Daniel Greenway is also going to be super-easy.
Taking a jaunt Downtown is a nice idea, as the city has a fairly attractive center, even outside the UNC Campus.
The Weatherspoon Art Museum and the Greensboro History Museum are both great places to start.
They’re roughly a 10-minute drive from the hotel.
