A stay in Downtown Portland with easy insight into the city’s art scene, beer scene, and artisan craftspeople? Sign us up. Hotel Lucia is a boutique hotel that goes the extra mile to connect guests with the pulse of the city.
In this case it means world-class food & drink, local handmade arts & crafts, and souvenirs. Hotel Lucia has partnerships with half a dozen local businesses in these fields.
It’s been a hotel since 1909, and while nothing really feels 100+ years old, the hotel definitely has hints of an old-world, calm elegance.
We especially love the lobby, which is gorgeously furnished and home to a stunning art collection, including the works of famed Oregon photographer David Hume Kennerly.

”Absolutely recommend. The perfect place to stay in Portland! Super friendly staff. The hotel is beautiful and the staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful. Good sized rooms and a brilliant location – so central to so many great things to see and do….
”Really nice boutique hotel with lots of charm. They moved our room without issue to an alternate when our first room was right near the lift. Have free beer hour between 5-6pm and offered free ice blocks on one of the warmer days when we were there….”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”Bathroom is small, but it’s an old building and this is to be expected. This wasn’t close to being a deal breaker for return visits…..”
”Local breakfast bars not so good and they would be better having just a cold buffet breakfast on the premises to their high standard. We bought breakfast in…..”
