From the glowing letters on the corner of the building to the East River just a few minutes away, we find The Wythe doesn’t shy away from its urbanity.
One of NYC’s last few masonry-timber buildings, it is as architecturally fascinating as it is historically.
Formerly used to make barrels and fabric, it now emulates the rich and diverse history of New York City, providing a comfortable and attractive place for the creative and curious to stay.

And what’s the food like? Any facilities we should know about?
- French dining at Le Crocodile: – upscale meals, cocktails, warm industrial-chic space.
- Bar Blondeau rooftop: – skyline views, curated wine list, cocktails, local beers.
- Local flair: – menus include snacks and drinks from Brooklyn producers.

We think Le Crocodile will provide you with all the French cuisine you might want, next to an extensive cocktail and mocktail menu.
It’s a gorgeous space, all exposed brick with warm lighting and some chic industrial elements by the bar.
The real gem, however, is Bar Blondeau, the sixth-floor bar that looks out over the river towards a glittering Manhattan skyline.
During “Sunset Hour” you can enjoy a sommelier-chosen glass of wine while at the silhouettes of the Chrysler Building and the Empire State.
There’s an attractive menu of snacks and meals to go alongside a drink list brimming with curiosity and craftsmanship.
The beers provide tastes from three different local breweries, while the cocktails emphasize quality liquors, also with some local offerings.

- Prime Williamsburg location: – trendy neighborhood with food, nightlife, and culture.
- Parks nearby: – Bushwick Inlet and Marsha P. Johnson parks for morning walks.
- Smorgasburg market: – popular open-air food market less than 10 minutes away.

We think a stay at The Wythe is a great opportunity to be forced to experience more than just Manhattan.
You’ll be waking up with the Manhattan skyline in your sights but you’re in Brooklyn, a place that, though nowadays is uber-trendy, is still only familiar to residents.
You can start your morning by the Bushwick Inlet or Marsha P. Johnson parks, both cute local parks with lovely views.
You’ll find multiple farmer’s markets, breweries and more in the local area. And we’d particularly recommend the open-air food market Smorgasburg, less than 10 minutes from the hotel.
Williamsburg is one of Brooklyn’s, and therefore New York’s most hip and happening areas, and we think you’ll find the nightlife equally hip and happening.
You can catch East River Ferries all day from nearby the hotel, one of the more relaxing ways to get over to Manhattan, and a couple of subway stations are walking distance too.
