A repurposed villa with a fascinating history, this boutique hotel in the perfect place, slightly outside Downtown Santa Fe, for a quiet, intimate, yet invigorating stay.
Indeed, the original owner, poet Witter Bynner, was a famed partier who hosted the likes of D.H. Lawrence, Ansel Adams, Igor Stravinsky, Willa Cather, and, of course, Santa Fe’s queen Georgia O’Keefe.
Their spirit is palpable at the Inn, still a lively and creative place to be.
The 1886 house was transformed into an inn 110 years later, but each owner has been dedicated to maintaining the original atmosphere.
Even some of the Chinese-style decor favored by Bynner and his partner can still be seen.
What are the rooms like?
- Number of rooms: Just 9, each with unique character and history.
- Homey style: Traditional wood beams, handicrafts, and lived-in charm.
- Modern comfort: TVs, mini-fridges, and updated bathrooms with BeeKind products.
- Themed rooms: Suites named after famous guests like Ansel Adams.

The decor is unsurprising, the same gorgeous handicrafts and wood beams that Santa Fe hotels are famous for.
These furnishings, however, feel like they have lived a little, which creates a homey atmosphere perfectly in line with the hospitality-focused estate.
Rooms are fully modernized, though, offering TVs, mini-fridges and more. As with any historical estate, they are not all built alike, and some amenities will be in some rooms and not others.
Bathrooms are all fully modernized and offer BeeKind products and soft robes.
Each room is named after a former guest, with decor that hints at a theme but doesn’t go over the top.
The Ansel Adams suite is perhaps the most obvious, with black-and-white photos on the wall and lovely high-contrast prints in all the decor.
Some rooms offer fireplaces, others claw-foot bathtubs, and others have tables and chairs on their outdoor patios.
