TL;DR
- Unique contrast: A boutique-style hideout atop the massive MGM.
- Exclusive access: Use MGM amenities while retreating upstairs to quiet.
- Good size: 300 rooms feels small by Vegas standards.
- Location bonus: Right on the Las Vegas Strip.

If you want a boutique, intimate hotel experience on the Las Vegas Strip, you’re not exactly going to be spoiled for choice.
Hotels here are big, luxurious beasts filled with slot machines and drag queens and magicians with names you remember when you hear them but otherwise couldn’t pick out if your life depended on it.
No Sin City hotel is going to give you the secret, live-like-a-local, tastefully minimalist experience. There might, however, be a meeting point roughly halfway, and we like that NoMad is giving it a try.
In any other city, this hotel would be far too big for us, but all design is about contrast. Perched on top of the 6000-key MGM, NoMad’s 300 rooms seem quite modest.
Guests share amenities with the MGM, making this Vegas boutique experience an exercise in exclusivity.
You’ll bask in the flashy chaos of the strip until you feel like a break, then head up to the top floors to your own little Vegas-adjacent hideout.
What are the rooms like?
- 293 rooms: A modest boutique feel by Vegas standards.
- Classic style: Leather headboards, framed prints, rich wood furnishings.
- Room choices: From King Singles to large 2-Bedroom Suites.
- Luxury touches: Freestanding tubs, walk-in showers, original artwork.

Rooms are just as comfortable as you’d expect, and we think the decor works perfectly.
There’s no attempt to “hip” the space, rather, the decor is the charming, soft taste of your childhood friend’s guest room, the one whose mom was an Oklahoma debutante before moving to New York.
Headboards are gleaming leather, with framed prints and photos hung in clusters on the walls. Accents are a rich royal blue that adds depth to the off-white walls and rich wood furnishings.
You’ll choose between King Singles, Queen Doubles, Salon Doubles and a variety of Suites. The Atelier is the simplest option, up to a 2,000 square foot Two-Bedroom with a separate guest bath and a billiards table.
We would suggest that it’s worth it to skip the Classic King for an Atelier or another Suite. Most have attractive freestanding bathtubs and walk-in showers, while the seating is
Regardless of your choice, you’ll enjoy original artwork, nice desks, some sort of seating, mini bars, hardwood flooring and HD smart TVs.
Newspapers are delivered on request, and it wouldn’t be hard to spend the majority of your vacation simply lounging in your room.
What are prices like?
And what’s the food like? Any facilities we should know about?
- Dining options: The Library Restaurant and NoMad Bar offer upscale and casual menus.
- Exclusive pool: Moroccan-inspired, separate from MGM’s main pools.
- Shared amenities: Full access to MGM restaurants, spa, gym, and shows.
Guests share amenities with the MGM, but there are a few common spaces that feel more a part of NoMad than the other hotel.
The Library Restaurant is one, a soaring-ceilinged spot with glowing chandeliers and velvety seating.
The cuisine is upscale American, the menu full of choice steaks and truffle-laced delicacies.
If you want something a bit more laid-back, the NoMad bar is the perfect place for a cocktail and a couple bites. It has the same sultry sophistication, but with burgers and fries instead of towers of oysters.
The hotel even has its own pool, a sunny, Moroccan-themed retreat. If you prefer the bright liveliness of a Vegas afternoon, head to the MGM cabanas for a mai-tai and some excellent people-watching.
The rest of the MGM is also at your disposal, from even more restaurants to the Dolby Live to the spa and 24-hour fitness center.
How is the neighborhood? Anything interesting nearby?
- Prime Strip location: In the heart of Las Vegas action.
- Walkable: Bellagio, Caesars, and Venetian within 30 minutes.
- Nearby highlights: Bellagio fountains, Fremont Street, Neon and Mob Museums.
The best magic of NoMad is the tiny piece of peace and quiet you can find, while still being at the heart of everything.
You’re right on the Las Vegas Strip, adjacent to one of the biggest hotels in the world. The entertainment and revelry the city is famous for will be at your fingertips for your entire stay.
Our best recommendation is to walk. Of course, you could spend your entire vacation within NoMad and the MGM, and still get the full taste of Vegas.
But, with the Bellagio, Caesar’s Palace and the Venetian in such close proximity, we’d say it’s worth a wander.
It takes barely any time at all with the car or monorail, but walking to the Venetian will is just a half-hour stroll down the strip anyway.
Other high profile hotels and casinos are even closer, and with the Bellagio’s infamous water show is twenty minutes away.
It’s also just a 10-minute drive to Old Vegas, around Fremont Street. It’s different from the strip, and can be a nice change of pace.
You’ll still have plenty of casinos, bars and event spaces. There are also a handful of interesting museums, like the Neon Museum, the Children’s Museum, or the Mob Museum, a Vegas classic.
And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?

“It is a fantastic room set up with comfy bedding, complimentary water and a coffee maker in the room, which is rare in Vegas. Friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere overall. I highly recommend it for a couple’s stay!…”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”Lighting a bit too subdued, but a common issue in hotels….”
”The wine bars only had limited opening times! It was expensive!…”
