Driving around places like Brewster, Cape Cod, you get to know the charm of the white clapboard cape, the 18th Century farmhouse, and the red brick libraries.
And nowhere is this charm more obvious than the Candleberry Inn.
It’s an award-winner of a B&B, set in a historic building, with the oldest part in the main house: the dining room built in the 1780s.
The house was expanded in the early 1800s for Senator George Copeland and used for a variety of purposes.
It has functioned as a school, a home, a boarding house, inn, and even a farmhouse for a short time.
In 2016 a couple from New York purchased the property and set about bringing it up to the impeccable standards that you’ll find today.

Accomodation is split between the main house and the carriage house, with each location boasting its own atmosphere.
Main House rooms are in the Federal Style. They honor the history of the property, especially in the Seacroft Suite.
The quality of furnishings is anything but 19th century, unless you include some exceptionally fine antiques.
Walls are cleverly colorful, right on the edge of bold, but firmly on the side of friendly and pleasing.
The Carriage House, while on the National Registry of Historic Places, loosens up a bit, and feels more beachey.
You’ll have lots of white linens and the quintessential New England blue and white stripes.
All rooms boast Matouk linens, duvets and blankets, with Smart TVs, individual climate control, all the charging ports you need and all the room amenities you can think of.
Bathrooms are all the result of recent renovations, with soft gray marble and pastel walls along with beautiful finishes. Custom Frette robes, slippers, and Turkish bath towels are ready to make your pampering complete.
Not all, but many, rooms have fireplaces (wood and gas), while all suites will include a soaking tub and shower.
Private, newly renovated bathroom in each guest room with premium finishes; standard guest rooms have showers, suites have both bathtubs and showers.

And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?
Some things guests liked:
”Angelo and Marco were consummate hosts. The Inn is exquisitely appointed and their attention to detail is second to none. My husband and I will definitely be returning!!!..”
“Very rarely does one find hospitality at this level anywhere, but discovering it among the idyllic beauty of Cape Cod makes it even better. As soon as one enters the Candleberry Inn, it becomes apparent that the beauty of this B&B extends far beyond the charm of the historic building and the tastefully landscaped property. Innkeepers Marco and Angelo have distilled the experience of their lifelong, worldwide travel into a place where people can relax yet be treated to extraordinary service, recommendations, breakfast, and so much more. Even better, their staff is outgoing, professional, and knowledgeable. I’ve stayed at many places, but this was, by far, the most difficult one to leave. I look forward to returning….”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”The only thing are the rather strict breakfast times….”
”It’s an old house:)…the bathroom door did not latch. Not a big issue, except we were staying with our daughter!….”
