TL;DR
- Heritage: Originally the Fenway Motor Hotel (1959), preserved rock-and-roll atmosphere.
- Design: Refitted Airstreams, leather couches, lobby like a movie-set recording studio.
- Vibe: Energetic, music-focused, party-friendly hotel in Boston’s Fenway neighborhood.

Originally the Fenway Motor Hotel, the cadre of refitted Airstream trailers and spotless leather couches are presumably new, but the atmosphere of this 1959 era Boston boutique hotel has been nicely preserved.
It helps to know that the rock and roll theme is entirely authentic, this being a popular spot throughout the years for musicians playing at the House of Blues.
The lobby is decked out like a movie-set recording studio and there’s a giant record collection for guests to play with.
Let’s be honest: Fenway is not the place for those who prefer to relax in perfect silence and turn in early.
And for those who want to soak up some party vibes in comfort, The Verb is your place to be. The musical emphasis is fun, and the energy is infectious.

The Airstreams have to be booked on the hotel’s own website, and it might require some flexibility to snag one. If you don’t have long to plan, or you’re trying to catch specific dates for a game, staying within the unique colored glass walls of the hotel will not disappoint.
There’s more than enough choice in the guestrooms, which range from King Singles to Queen Doubles, with or without balconies or views towards the stadium.
All rooms have concert and music-themed wall decor, comfortable seating, and lots of charming vintage touches.
Your room will also include a Keurig coffeemaker, mini fridge, HDTV, working area and (the real treat), a functioning record playing with access to their vinyl library.
Bathrooms offer cozy bathrobes and C.O. Bigelow amenities in clean, white tiled walk-in showers.
What are prices like?
And what’s the food like? Any facilities we should know about?
- Dining: On-site Hojoko restaurant with sushi, wagyu burger, unusual dishes, extensive sake menu.
- Pool: Year-round branded courtyard pool with sunning beds.
- Fitness: Access to nearby Boston Sports Club; pet-friendly rooms available.
Ever stayed next to a Japanese rock’n’roll tavern? We didn’t think so. Hojoko, the on-site restaurant at the Verb, is as delightfully out-of-the-box as the rest of the property, and will satisfy all your curiosity.
You can find your standard sushi or check out some unusual offerings like black edamame and a wagyu burger topped with American cheese and dashi pickles.
A don’t-miss is the extensive sake menu, which you’ll probably want to sample a couple of times during your stay.
The real star, open year round, is the pool, a perfectly branded courtyard feature surrounded by sunning beds where guests can easily spend a full day. It gives California in the heart of Boston, which is an achievement in itself.
If you’re a workout indoors kind of person, you’ll have access to the nearby Boston Sports Club, courtesy of the hotel. Pet-friendly rooms are available for an extra fee.
How is the neighborhood? Anything interesting nearby?
- Neighborhood: Fenway, Boston; vibrant, entertainment-heavy, near baseball stadium.
- Attractions: MGM, House of Blues, Symphony Hall, Fenway Green.
- Transport: Fenway T station for easy access to Downtown, Cambridge, Somerville.
Fenway is a unique and truly Boston type of experience. The neighborhood has a long history shaped around the baseball stadium, which has given it an air of entertainment and fun.
You’ll definitely find all the sports bars, baseball fanatics, and Red Sox memorabilia hawkers you could imagine, but there’s even more.
The entertainment-focused vibe includes music, and we don’t mean endless renditions of Sweet Caroline (we don’t NOT mean that either though).
Many of Boston’s biggest music venues are walking distance: the MGM, the House of Blues, and Symphony Hall, if you run a little more classical. The Fenway Green is a gorgeous park with frequent programming that you’ll be welcome to join.
The nearest T station is (surprise!) Fenway, which you can take downtown, to Cambridge, and even up to Somerville.
And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?
Some things guests liked:
”Hotel blew me away – the staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful and truly seemed to love working there, and wanted to go out of their way to make our stay special. The rooms were huge, the beds very comfortable. Coffee machine in the room, modern bathrooms, free waters, lobby coffee on tap, breakfast bagels and waffles were great and the kids loved the swimming pool. Location was a 5-10min walk to Newbury Str, but only 1minute to Fenway Park…..”
”Everything about the hotel was amazing, the staff were extremely helpful and the overall vibe of the place was great….”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”The cost of parking. We were unaware of the price to park before going to the hotel…..”
”I didn’t know they had a heated pool… I would have brought my swimsuit!….”
