Bluebird Ocean Point is a Boothbay, Maine boutique hotel offering much beachy elegance along the Midcoast.
The Bluebird chain is a part of Lark Hotels, long a reliable source for non-derivative New England luxury, and this Ocean Point location is no exception.
The hotel is open seasonally, so if you were hoping to watch the winter waves from the porch, you’re out of luck. Bluebird’s light, breezy clapboard doesn’t seem made to keep you warm in winter anyway.
This part of the world is generally much more pleasant in the warmer months though, and by more pleasant, we mean one of the most beautiful places you could ever find.
It’ll be a drive to get here, a long, windy drive through wetlands and seashores, with breathtaking views on all sides.
What are the rooms like?
- Number of rooms: 61 in total, spread across several small buildings.
- Flexible stays: Options for solo travelers, couples, or families.
- Upscale décor: Neutral tones with wood accents and playful patterns.
- Modern comforts: TVs, fridges, desks, porches, fireplaces, and more.
- See each room in detail here
The property comprises a campus of small buildings, with guest rooms, suites, and cottages spread across the space.
There are options for any group size and composition, from cute King Rooms for single travelers to two-bedroom cottage suites great for families.
Decor is upscale and well-done. Rooms are done up in black, white and gray, with natural wood accents and touches of either color or bold pattern that add a bit of fun.
Even the simplest rooms have seating, TVs, mini fridges and a desk area. Others feature added luxuries like spectacular ocean views, shared and/or private porches, fireplaces, and kitchenettes.
A suite is probably worth the splurge we feel, if any of that sounds appealing.
