This Wicker Park boutique hotel is iconic. Sumptuous interiors aside, The Robey’s magnificent Art Deco architecture will draw you in and keep you there,
Its rooms and suites are nestled in sunny corners of a sky-high structure. Snag one of these for yourself and you’ll get matchless views of the Chicago skyline from the comfort of your hotel room.
We think you won”t regret a sunset cocktail or two on the rooftop bar either.
The Robey isn’t just fancy cocktails and great views, however. It fills an old office building, and the owners have paired with top-notch designers and architects to create enough personality on the inside to match the outside.
What are the rooms like?
- Two options: Tower Rooms in the office tower or Annex lofts in a former warehouse.
- Light & views: Tower Rooms are bright with sleek furnishings and corner suites show off the building’s shape.
- Industrial edge: Annex lofts feature polished concrete, exposed beams, and minimalist bunk pods.
- Amenities: Black-and-white bathrooms stocked with Le Labo toiletries.

You’ll choose between Tower Rooms, which were part of the original office building, and the Annex, which is a converted warehouse with a more industrial feel.
The Tower Rooms boast incredible light and the Annex offers unique design with polished concrete and exposed beams.
Tower Rooms let the building do the talking, cleanly designed with sleek furnishing, restrained palettes and some cushy couches for comfort.
All rooms soak up the sun, but the Corner Suites really let you feel the unique shape of the building.
The bathrooms feel like your office bathroom, if it wasn’t communal and was very cool. They’ve got a black and white theme and lovely Le Labo toiletries.
The annex lofts sport a similar design, with less of a vintage vibe to work with, clean and comfortable.
Annex lofts are straightforward minimalist design, with clean wood, black, white and gray. You have the option for a bunk bed, which are cute little pods tucked into the walls and accessed by stylish black piping.

A comfortable lounge area invites you to spend hours sipping and nibbling while the sky darkens and the city starts to twinkle.
The seasonal Cabana Club serves snacks and drinks, and is also home to the hotel’s unique triangular pool.
It’s unheated, so make sure to get a lounger so you can soak up the sun after a refreshing dip. Ask the front desk for an in-room massage to top off.

The Robey sits at an intersection, and there the historic and hip meet in the most charming of ways.
