And what’s the food like? Any facilities we should know about?
- Restaurant: Mesler Kitchen serves American cuisine with soul-food influence.
- Drinks: Craft cocktails, Chicago wines, and POC-owned Moor’s Brewing on draft.
- Extras: Lobby record collection, local musicians, and a 24-hour fitness center.
Food and drink can be found at the Mesler Kitchen, an upscale yet unpretentious watering hole of a restaurant.
Here local academics, businesspeople and tourists alike enjoy indulgent snacks and sophisticated cocktails.
It’s definitely American cuisine, with a healthy dose of soul-food influence and little interest in catering to calorie-counters.
You’ll find thoughtful and tasty salads, but they’ll be hard to choose in the face of buttery grits, freshly made pasta, and three different cuts of beef.
The drinks show a deep knowledge of well-crafted cocktails, and Moor’s Brewing Company, Chicago’s #1 POC-owned brewery, is half the draft menu.
Wines include selections from Chicago, emphasizing the restaurant’s dedication to showcasing local libationary talent.
Once you’re well-fed and slightly buzzed, look for local musicians in the record collection in the lobby.
Later you can head down to the 24-hour fitness center to prepare for another round of local beers.

”Hosting staff in bar were verging on rude. Unpleasant and unhelpful. The two young girls need training in manners. Created an unpleasant first impression of hotel. Other staff very pleasant..Tanisha, Martez, Joshua, Nikki, and the other restaurant staff. And also the cleaning lady on the 7th floor. And Derek the maintenance guy who came to check our air conditioning….”
