TL;DR
- Style: Classic Florida beach charm with modern touches.
- Decor: Bright, fresh, and luxurious with grand piano and pool views.
- Food: Complimentary hot breakfast stands out.
- Location: Convenient for driving, less walkable for on-foot explorers.

The Inn at Pelican Bay gives you old-style Florida beach plush just north of Naples.
You might be picturing a cozy historical hotel, but this building is brand spankin’ shiny and new.
The decor is reminiscent of a guest room in a Martha Stewart summer home.
There’s a grand piano in the wide foyer and lush landscaping sprawls around a large pool.
It’s definitely luxurious, checking all the boxes of a fancy pants hotel. The most inn-y element is the complimentary breakfast, which is hot, generous and tasty.
Food is easily one of our favorite parts of B&B-style accommodation, but if you’re usually more excited about vibe and decor, don’t go off the name.
The area is decently situated if you have a car. Our readers who favor on-foot exploration, though, might not be super inspired by the surroundings.
All in all, this is a solid choice for anyone who can fully appreciate the appeal of a mall, a pool, a lot of sun, and an upscale, comfortable stay.
What are the rooms like?
- Number of rooms: 100
- Style: Clean and cozy with blue-and-white décor, no carpeting, bright and airy.
- Size: Over 400 sq ft with King or Double options, private balconies, plush amenities.
- Views: Lake View preferred over City View.
- Extras: TVs, bathrobes, Keurig machines, mini fridges, sleeper sofas in King rooms.
- See all the rooms in detail here
Rooms have the clean, cozy atmosphere of a Town and Country spread, all blue and white and white and wood.
There’s no carpeting, which we love, and some of the views out to the pool and the lake are fantastic.
With plenty of sun, and a good dose of bright coloring, you’ll have everything you need to feel comfortable.
Walls are graced with unexceptional photography that adds color if not much else.
Everything is quite roomy, a little over 400 square feet for both Double Doubles and King Singles.
City view rooms are nothing to write home about; shoot for a Lake View option if you can.
Everything has the comfort you’d expect from an upscale hotel. TVs are large, bathrobes are plush, and the pillow-top mattresses make for a super night’s sleep.
All rooms include Keurig machines, TVs, working areas, mini fridges, and private balconies.
King rooms have little sleeper sofas, if you prefer that to a Double.
What are prices like?
And what’s the food like? Any facilities we should know about?
- Main draw: Breakfast or lakeside pool.
- Dining: Small on-site market and restaurants at Mercato mall nearby.
- Facilities: Pool with loungers and fire pits, 24-hour fitness center, hotel bikes.
- Beach: Shuttle service, umbrellas, chairs, and towels provided.
The biggest draw is either the breakfast or the lakeside pool; we’re split.
The hot breakfast is a lovely element, only slightly offset by there being no other on-site food besides a small market open 7 am-11 pm.
What they do have is a small cadre of restaurants at the Mercato mall across the street, a nice range of options that should suit any palate.
Transportation is easy and can be arranged at the concierge.
On to the pool, then. It looks over the nearby lake, which is a bit odd but also nice. With plenty of loungers, fire pits and open space, you could easily spend hours there.
There’s also a 24-hour fitness center and hotel bikes.
If you’re more of a sand animal, the hotel provides transport to the beach, as well as supplying umbrellas, chairs, and towels.
How is the neighborhood? Anything interesting nearby?
- Neighborhood: Pelican Bay focuses on water-related activities rather than land-based attractions.
- Nearby: Casino, multiple malls, Mercato mall with restaurants and shopping.
- Beach access: 5-minute drive to Vanderbilt Beach, not ideal for walking.
- Naples: 15 minutes south to Old Naples shops, 5th Avenue, and Pier.
- Extras: Celebration Park food trucks, golf courses, and country clubs.
Pelican Bay is more what’s on or right next to the water than what’s on the land, in our opinion.
There’s a casino on one side, multiple malls on the other.
The one mall, Mercato, is quite nice, with a lot of open air, some high-end restaurants, and more than enough shopping to keep you occupied.
You’re just a 5-minute drive to Vanderbilt Beach, but it’s not especially scenic, so we wouldn’t recommend trying to walk.
Once you get there, you’ll find a lot of dining with exceptional views, and lovely sandy strolls.
If you want to check out Naples proper, head south for about 15 minutes.
In Old Naples, you can check out the shops and restaurants. Walk 5th Avenue to check out the beach, or check out the Pier.
Celebration Park, next to the botanical garden, has a selection of food trucks by the water, just under 20 minutes from Pelican Bay.
Golfers should check with the concierge; the area is packed with greens and country clubs.
