A Palihouse location until 2022, this now-independent boutique hotel in Miami’s Mid-Beach touts cheery colors and a playful atmosphere.
The Art Deco building, set along the Indian Creek Waterway, has been a hotel since inception, and suits the practice perfectly.
Hotel Trouvail is bright and flirty on first impression, with clean, many-windowed white walls nestled within palm landscaping that gives the street-corner location a nice touch of privacy.
One step inside the nicely decorated lobby and you can forget you’re in the heart of Miami tourism.
At Hotel Trouvail you’ll only confront the happy chaos of Miami Beach when you choose to go outside.
Stay in and be happy surrounded by what feels like the brainchild of Jean-Paul Gaultier and Jonathan Adler drunk on prosecco at Aquatica.
The sea-blue lobby and charmingly tiled hotel bar especially add a friendly, beachy attitude that’s hard not to like.

There should be something for everyone, regardless of party size or vacation style.
You’ve got rooms and studio-style “suites,” some with balconies and others more straightforward.
Each one offers the same half-coral walls that give the fun of color without making the space feel frenetic.
Blue and white accents give hints of nautical but would die before incorporating an anchor motif or anything else so gauche.
All accommodation includes lovely Bellino linens, HD TVs, Nespresso machines and minibars. Some rooms include balconies and most have rain showers.
Bathrooms are lovely white and sienna tiled numbers with plush robes and luxurious Diptyque products.
The Double Deluxe and most of the studio rooms will have SMEG fridges with kitchenettes, enabling you to enjoy some time cooking as you watch the beach and/or city wanderers from the window.

- Dining: No Man’s Land restaurant offers Mediterranean-inspired cuisine and creative cocktails.
- Pool & Bar: Outdoor pool with nearby bar, poolside seating, and drinks service.
- Extras: Bike rentals, local wellness and entertainment collaborations, beach gear available on request.
No Man’s Land at Hotel Trouvail serves you up a delicious meal overlooking the creek.
Look for Mediterranean-inspired classics with the perfect amount of American twist, but don’t forget the drinks.
In fact, it’s the bar at No Man’s Land, with its contrasting tilework and gorgeous vitrine, that steals a show a little.
They have a fantastic selection of frozen cocktails, as well as twists on the classics, that will get you down there early and have you there until close.
Those who want to enjoy their drinks while in the water can mosey over to the outdoor pool, where you can lounge just feet from the poolside bar, ready to supply you with whatever you need for a relaxing afternoon.
We’re big fans of a bubbly Aperol Spritz or a local IPA.
Lots of other little extras are not in your face, but available with a word to an ever-friendly staff.
Ask them about bike rentals, local wellness and entertainment collaborations, and beach gear.

While all of Miami Beach is going to be top-tier for relaxing in the sand, there’s something romantic about the creek side location.
Any bike or drive will take you past a sweet riverfront, and it encourages you to get out of the hotel and explore.
The short walk through the neighborhood of hotels to the beach is also a fun one, more so when you know your hotel is one of the best.
For more local color, check out the various golf greens and even a couple museums.
Don’t miss the many inland attractions, like Tidal Cove water park, the Museum of Science, or any one of Miami’s famed contemporary art spaces.
Time it right and drop some cash, and you can rub elbows with blue-chip bigwigs at the Convention Center’s annual Art Basel.
A drive up the coast allows you to explore almost all of Florida’s beach highlights, from an eclectic Nude Beach to the classics like Fort Lauderdale or the Keys.
And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?
Some things guests liked:
”Absolutely perfect. Great staff, perfect location and extremely helpful. Would 110% stay here again. Hotel car park was fantastic. 2 minutes from the beach. Only thing missing were proper cupboards in the bedrooms. But I would definitely stay here again….”
”What a delightful, laidback quaint hotel! The staff were really friendly and helpful, especially Florian! The decor keeps with a lovely Art Deco vibe. The pool is such a cool, quiet little oasis, surrounded by lush palm trees. It’s a great location, too! It’s on the free Miami trolley route, so you can travel north or south into or out of town (Ocean Drive, South Beach) for free. There are public buses running too, for travel to the airport or downtown….”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”Whilst we were there the bar wasn’t opened. They started opening it when we were leaving. Probably just bad timing. No food options at the hotel. No milk with the coffee in the room….”
”Lobby was FREEZING, AC wayyyyyy too low vs outside it felt likw 17 degrees Celsius inside vs 35c outside! Pool area could do with a bit of a clean, granted it was end of season and we’d had some tropical stormy weather but was quite grubby on the chairs, mattresses etc didn’t really want to sit in them….”
