Many Miami hotels, even boutique hotels, walk the edge of gaudy excess, but down in South Beach above all places, Hotel Greystone offers a masterclass in well, class.
Its beautifully renovated historical Art Deco facade gleams white in the sunshine, set off by a flashy vertical sign (our favorite)!
It’s in good company though, just across the street from the Asian-influenced boutique elegance of The Setai.
That’s the two very best boutique hotels in South Beach right across from each other.
But Greystone is all-American, a testament to the Art-Deco-on-the-Beach atmosphere that inspired the likes of Vice City.
It’s bright white, adults only, luxury at the Greystone, and you’re invited to feel at your most chic.

Rooms and suites at Hotel Greystone are spread between two buildings, with gorgeous exteriors and a cleverly built structure in the courtyard.
All rooms offer the same glowing white color scheme, with natural touches that keep the space feeling lively.
Every option, from the simple yet lovely Courtyard King, to the let’s-go-all-out Penthouse, includes the best of bed linens and cozy (but not too heavy) duvets.
You’ll have a tablet in your room, and nice big TVs to enjoy from custom mattresses you might not want to leave.
Bathrooms have comfy robes and slippers for downtime, Malin + Goetz amenities and usually luxurious rain showers, though some units include private jacuzzis and/or outdoor showers.
They stick to the room’s design with white tile, pale wood, and stylish black accents.
Many rooms have connecting capabilities, though the Double Double Suite sports a 350+ square foot terrace and is a real must-see for large groups.
It’s not the only terraced suite either, with both the Roof Suite and the Loft Suite also being good choices for balcony-lovers.

And what’s the food like? Any facilities we should know about?
- Dining: Sérêvène serves French-Japanese seafood-focused cuisine.
- Breakfast: Kobo café for coffee, croissants, and healthy starts.
- Drinks: Rooftop Sora bar with cocktails, sangria, and light bites.
- Leisure: Rooftop pool, courtyard, and organized beach chairs.
Ever wondered what one might find at the intersection of French and Japanese cuisine? Time to give Hotel Greystone’s restaurant a try.
Sérêvène is the hotel’s flagship dining experience, a seafood-forward, small-plates-centered gem that lies right downstairs from your room.
You’ll have other dining options, too, for mornings, afternoons, and drinks. Kobo is your stop for a healthy, gourmet breakfast, or a simple coffee and croissant.
Once you’re ready for a cocktail, head to Sora, the rooftop bar.
Here, try some frozen cocktails, fruity sangria, or local beer next to the pool or under the palm trees.
They offer light bites as well, and once the sun goes down the bar menu comes out to play.
You’ll find similar classics downstairs, at the Greystone Bar, the perfect place to start a night of partying up and down Miami Beach.
You’ll have the pool and the courtyard to hang out it, though we all know it’s the access to South Beach that is the real draw.
The hotel can organize a chair for you, easy, and you can stay out in the sun all day if you wish.
How is the neighborhood? Anything interesting nearby?
- Prime spot: Right along the main road in South Beach.
- Activities: Botanical Garden, golf, art galleries, and shopping.
- Day trips: Drive to Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, or the Keys.
There’s no better location in South Beach, right along the main road, a skip and a hop from the beach, and an easy drive from most of Miami’s main attractions.
Check out the Botanical Garden, hit a ball or two at the nearby Golf Club, or even head up north for a nipple-warming stretch at the Haulover Nude Beach.
There’s a pedestrian-only mall, some green waterfront and the art galleries are world-class.
With a car, the city opens up. Inland, you can satisfy your inner child at Tidal Cove, the Museum of Science, or one of multiple zoos.
A coastal drive will hit Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, or head south to the Keys for some one-of-a-kind island time.
And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?
Some things guests liked:
”Fab fun and fantastic location. Loved the jazz bar and the kobo coffee shop. JJ makes a mean mezcal drink or three. Rooms are functional and well maintained. Danielle the receptionist and the rest of her team are a warm and wonderful welcome….”
”What a great place to stay. All the staff, from reception to roof top pool area to Kobo cafe, were all so welcoming. Location was great for beach and shopping and the bed was so big and comfortable….”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”I wish there was a fitness center in the hotel….”
”Room layout was pretty cramped for two people. It was kind of weird having the shower open up into the rest of the bedroom. There was also no place to conveniently hang towels to dry….”
