TL;DR
- Luxury amenities: Private beach club, golf club, full-service spa, pools, and fitness center.
- Design: Nautical charm in blues and whites with touches of personality in textiles and prints.
- Relaxing vibe: Predictable, comfortable luxury with plenty of space to unwind.

Delray Beach is a smallish Florida beach city that offers a surprising variety of hotels, and The Seagate here represents the super-posh.
We’re looking at a private beach club, a golf club, a full-service spa, and plenty of other small touches made for you to sit back and just enjoy.
It’s all done up with an almost aggressive level of nautical charm, all blues and whites and the odd bit of warm leather.
It wouldn’t feel out of place on a small New England beach hotel, even. Not a lot differentiates it from lots of other chic beach resorts.
Moments of personality keep The Seagate from feeling too cookie-cutter though, like some cute textiles and colorful prints on the walls.
It’s a nice balance where what you see is what you get.
And there’s plenty to see, thus plenty to get, just not many surprises. That in itself , though, might be the key to a truly relaxing vacation.
What are the rooms like?
- Number of rooms: 157
- Design: Open, breezy, relaxing with patterned headboards and blue-and-white decor.
- Room types: Interior King, Spa King, Queen Double, Studios (supersized rooms), sofa beds for up to 4 guests.
- Amenities: Nespresso machine, robes & slippers, minibar, super-large TV.

Rooms fit the vibe of the rest of the hotel: open, breezy, and relaxing.
They’re where most of the personality is, with very cute patterned headboards, and decor done up in varying forms of white and blue.
There are many room options, the most simple, an Interior King that we personally would skip.
If you’re going to forego the balcony, grab a Spa King for the soaking tub.
They’re all quite roomy, starting at 435 square feet. ‘Suites’ are called Studios, basically just supersized rooms.
They feature sofa beds that make space for up to 4.
Alternatively, just snag a 500 square foot Queen Double. They’ve got less seating, but plenty of comfort.
Whatever you choose, you’ll enjoy a Nespresso machine, robes and slippers, a minibar, and a super-large TV.
What are prices like?
And what’s the food like? Any facilities we should know about?
- Dining: Bourbon Steak (New American, Michelin-inspired), The Gate café (breakfast & espresso), multiple bars with small plates.
- Facilities: Seagate Spa with steam room, 24-hour fitness center, outdoor pool with cabanas, private Beach Club & Golf Club, tennis and pickleball courts, complimentary transportation to clubs.
The Seagate is the kind of place that’s popped a bar alongside almost every other amenity, so you know you won’t go wanting.
Most of the bars offer food, but the main dining event is very obviously Bourbon Steak, the brainchild of a Michelin-starred chef.
It’s New American fare (shocker), sleek but friendly, with a gorgeous bar.
Breakfast will have to be at The Gate, the obligatory hotel café.
You can get your espresso and croissant, no problem, and there’s even a small hot breakfast menu.
Other bars sit by the Beach Club, the outdoor pool, and the street-level Venetian Street Bar. You could pretty easily get by eating only at the hotel.
We wouldn’t really recommend it, though. There’s a solid restaurant scene to explore out there.
Beyond food, the Seagate Spa has a full-service menu and a gorgeous steam room.
The 24-hour fitness center is available for our more active friends, as is an outdoor pool with super cute cabanas.
The private Beach Club and Golf Club are other big draws, with tennis and pickleball courts as well.
Transportation between the hotel and the clubs is complimentary.
How is the neighborhood? Anything interesting nearby?
- Location: On Atlantic Avenue, beachfront with private access, 5-min walk to Public Beach.
- Entertainment & shopping: Restaurants, bars, shops along Atlantic Ave, walking distance to Arts Garage & Old School Square.
- Cultural attractions: Cornell Art Museum, Delray Beach Historical Society.
Atlantic Avenue is the main drag of Delray Beach, and this hotel is right on it.
It’s on the beach side of things, which is great for anyone who wants to soak up the rays.
You’ll have your own private beach access, of course, but the Public Beach is also just a 5-minute stroll away.
If you wanted to hang downtown, just head left and see what Atlantic Ave has to offer. There will be activities, restaurants, bars, shopping, and more.
For cultural activities, you can walk 15 minutes to a small area with a handful of performing arts spaces like the Arts Garage and Old School Square.
You’ll also find the Cornell Art Museum, and the Delray Beach Historical Society.
