This villa-filled property, minutes from Delray Beach, Florida is ideal for a relaxed, beachy vacation.
Crane’s is part hotel, part collection of small beach houses, good for the more independent travelers.
Rooms are a bit plain, but definitely worth it for access to the rest of the space.
The common areas are stunning and offer a good amount of privacy if you were hoping to hang with your honey in a beautiful space.
The grounds are luxurious and extensive for the size of the place. It’s no bare, open courtyard, but rather a lush area of palms and ferns and winding stone pathways and secluded seating.
The intimacy of the space plus the individuality of the villas make it feel undeniably exclusive, relaxing among the landscaping.
Location is excellent as well, set on the peninsula by the beach, but with easy access to Atlantic Ave and the rest of Delray.
What are the rooms like?
- Number of rooms: 28 ranging from Queen Studios to full villas.
- Style: Simple baby blue walls, white trim, modern amenities, and kitchenettes.
- Room types: One-bedroom suites and villas with king beds, pull-out sofas, patios, and balconies.
- Amenities: Spa bathrooms, bespoke furnishings, HDTVs, curated snacks, and Nespresso machines.

Visually, rooms leave a lot to be desired. Walls are a baby blue on the corporate side of the spectrum, with white trim and white sheets and not much else going on.
They’re a bit like a cross between an LA two-star hotel and a fancy dentist’s office.
Yet, they still do the trick. You have plenty of modern amenities, clean sheets, and kitchenettes even in the Queen Studios.
It only gets better from there. One-bedroom Suites feature king beds and pull-out sofas for groups, and the Villas are pure comfort.
Decor improves marginally, with some more interesting art on the walls and a scheme that we’ll upgrade to ’90s yuppie mom dream house.
You can nearly hear the Van Morrison coming from the photos.
If money is no object, a villa will make you feel like a million bucks. They’ve got spa bathrooms and bespoke furnishings, patios and balconies and full kitchens.
Yet, the rooms aren’t doing too badly either. Even the guestrooms provide plush bathrooms, HDTVs, curated snacks, Nespresso machines and beach chairs.
What are prices like?
And what’s the food like? Any facilities we should know about?
- Dining: Limited onsite options; recommended to explore Delray Beach for meals.
- Facilities: Outdoor living room, Tiki Hut, lobby shop, and two saline swimming pools.
- Activities: Plenty of spots to relax or socialize within the grounds.
You can take those chairs straight to the beach if you want, be we recommend spending some time onsite.
There’s one big downside, and that is the lack of dining options. You are close to a lot of Delray’s finest food, but something within the grounds would be nice.
You will, however, have plenty to entertain you there.
The outdoor living room, the Tiki Hut, is a great place to enjoy yourself, and there’s a shop in the lobby where you can pick up gifts.
The biggest draws, still, are the 2 saline swimming pools, meaning you don’t need to deal with sand if it’s not your thing.
How is the neighborhood? Anything interesting nearby?
- Beach: Delray Public Beach a 5-minute walk, lined with restaurants, bars, and the Sandoway Discovery Center.
- Main street: Atlantic Ave nearby for dining, drinks, and activities.
- Cultural: Old School Square performing arts center and other theaters and galleries.
- Outdoors: Parks and gardens accessible, but the beach is the prime outdoor spot.
The location is perfect, making up for the lack of food.
Delray Public Beach is a 5-minute walk, and it’s lined with restaurants, bars, and even the Sandoway Discovery Center, a beach-house science museum perfect for kids of all ages.
Atlantic Ave is going to be the main drag for food and fun. It’s just a block from the hotel, and you can follow it into the city proper.
Here, you’ll find more food, more drink, and more activities.
Old School Square is a performing arts center on the far side of Delray’s main bustle, a 25-minute walk from the hotel.
Once there, everything will be wandering and going where you feel like. There are a few cultural centers, some theaters and some galleries for the artsy types.
A handful of parks and gardens are accessible for the outdoorsy, though we’d say there’s no better outdoors in the area than the beach.
And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?
Some things guests liked:
“This was a return trip as we experienced rain the first time. This time we were able to enjoy one of the two salt water pools and again really appreciated being able to walk to the beachas well as the shops and the restaurants on Atlantic ave. The hotels provides you with beach towels, beach chairs to borrow and the kitchen nook allows you have your breakfast with a Nespresso machine at your disposition and snacks and wine to purchase. We were even welcome back with a free bottle ! You really feel valued and the checking / check out is very easy. No added resort or parking fee makes it even nicer….”
“Wonderful location, very close to the beach as advertised. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Room was even better than I anticipated….”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”The tiki bar could have been open….”
