In a city really known for small, design-forward hotels with epic waterfront, this eye-catching Washington DC boutique hotel sure stands out.
The US-based Pendry chain is a reliable source of comfort and style, but it doesn’t always challenge the status quo.
It turns out Washington DC is just the place for the brand to shine.
The Pendry DC architecture looks cool from the outside, but it’s worth a visit for much more than novelty.
The standard of luxury is spot-on, and all that glass does have a purpose.
Rooms, lobbies, rooftop pools, they’re all airy and bright, making the entire hotel feel free and weightless.
In a city of dark corners and stately homes, it’s a lovely counterpoint.

Your basic room at Pendry Washington DC is a little over 300 square feet, nice and roomy with seating areas and stylish modern design.
Steel four-poster Kings feel like a cheeky salute to 1770s design aesthetic.
We recommend skipping the Basic and Partial view options, if you can, and settling for nothing less than multiple picture windows offering gorgeous views of the river and 380-530 square feet of space.
The same rule applies to suites.
Each room offers large HDTVs and notably comfortably seating, Bluetooth speakers, coffee machines, and mini bars.
We told you they knew how to do comfort.
Bathrooms are stunning, sumptuous marble with brass furnishing and more than one bathtub offers a view.

And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?
Some things guests liked:
”The design of the room was very unique. The pool area was very nice and for our 25th wedding anniversary they provided wine, chocolate covered strawberries which was nice. The shower unit was excellent…..
”It was a wonderful stay here. The staff, from the manager to the pool staff were simply excellent and very friendly and helpful. Everyone at reception was really great too. We had the bikes to ride twice, very good. The room was great with a great view of the harbor. All in all, a great stay…..”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”The only thing we found too much was the somewhat strange pool lounger costs and the fact that the wellness centre has made the opening hours very flexible…..”
”Rooms were a bit on the small side for the Money. The door to the shower conflicts with the door into the bathroom. They were still fantastic but the 2 queen rooms didn’t have a lot of room for a desk or other area to do work. Bar area in room is small…..”
