TL;DR
- Style: Chic, cozy boutique hotel, straightforward design but stylish and comfortable.
- Atmosphere: Refreshing simplicity, unpretentious Aspen relaxation.
- Location: Central Aspen, easy access to town, mountains, and local attractions.

This central Aspen location of a small chain of mountainous hotels is a testament to the brand’s quality.
Contrary to our typical favorites, Limelight is no art-deco-inspired boutique or historic motel.
Neither is it a converted factory or a quirky B&B with an owner that studied culinary arts in NYC.
It is more of a chic, cozy, small hotel. There are few surprise frills, and the straightforwardness is refreshing. The amenities are well-selected and easy to take advantage of.
With multiple partnerships, the many Audi mentions, for example, it can feel a bit corporate-shill-y. In the end, it’s not difficult to get over, especially when the Audi in question is picking you up at the airport.

There’s a wide variety of room options, from a 315 Standard to the 1,300 square foot Penthouse Suite. Large groups will want to shoot for multiple rooms, the most a room can host is 4 guests.
The decor is a nice balance between hotel-y uniformity and stylish comfort. Furniture is unremarkable but colorful, with cheerful throw pillows, and plenty of sunlight.
The marble-patterned rugs in some of the suites are especially charming, as are the frequently spectacular views.
Each room, no matter how spacious, cozy, or high-ceilinged, includes a little nook focused on food and beverage, with a wet bar, Lavazza coffee machine, and microwave.
Bathrooms are a lovely combination of warm gray countertops, glass shower and brass fixtures, stocked with custom Limelight toiletries.

And what’s the food like? Any facilities we should know about?
- Dining: Lounge with complimentary breakfast buffet; New American shared plates, sandwiches, pizzas in afternoon/evening.
- Facilities: Outdoor pool and hot tubs, rooftop terraces, fitness center with windows, Therabody products available, Aspen Words library.
For breakfast, the Lounge is set out with a complimentary buffet. It won’t live up to a 5-star gourmet, but has enough variety to set anyone up for a day on the slopes.
In the afternoon/evening, they start to pull out the stops, from a (brand-partnered) après-ski service to a full dinner menu.
Flavors are New American, with a selection of shared plates, sandwiches, and pizzas.
The Lounge also hosts a few activities like football nights and live music. It’s an unpretentious take on Aspen relaxation, which can be a welcome break.
Of course, other key amenities are included as well. The outdoor pool and hot tubs are a great addition, set in an open courtyard, and there are rooftop terraces to relax in as well.
The fitness center has windows, which we love. We’re sad to say there’s no spa, but they’ve made a stab at it with a selection of Therabody products available for reservation.
Like we said, the partnerships can feel a bit heavy-handed, but if someone wants to lend out massage guns, we’re not going to be the ones to stop them. The same goes for the Aspen Words library.
To clarify, they lend out books, not massage guns. In either case, we’re in.
How is the neighborhood? Anything interesting nearby?
- Location: Central Aspen with easy access to town and mountains.
- Nearby: Main Street restaurants and shopping, Art Museum, Wheeler Opera House.
- Nature: John Denver Sanctuary, surrounding trailheads for hiking.
An Aspen, Colorado vacation is frequently centered around skiing, but it’s definitely not the only time to enjoy the gorgeous scenery. It’s a pretty cute little town as well.
The hotel covers transport to the airport, and getting to the mountains around Aspen/Snowmass is supremely easy.
In town, there’s still plenty to see and do. Around Main Street there are some nice restaurants and shopping, while the Art Museum and the Wheeler Opera House are an easy walk from the hotel.
Nature-lovers are not limited to the slopes. The John Denver Sanctuary sits on the east of town, a 15-minute walk away.
There are also many hikes in the area, with trailheads surrounding the town.
And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?
Some things guests liked:
“The transportation to and from the airport and just about anywhere in town and all ski areas was fantastic! The crew was enthusiastic and competent, proactive in every way helping all along rides. Hotel front desk and concierge were awesome. Always yes to requests and expeditiously with great attitudes. Jacuzzis were excellent. Location was walkable to anything downtown…..”
“My wife and I travel often in the USA and Europe, we stay at both corporate and Boutique hotels. Without a doubt your staff was the most engaged we have experienced. Thank you all….”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”Hot Breakfast choices could be better but small kitchen has limited capacity so they do well with what they have and what was offered was good. Coffee in the room was better than the restaurant so would be good to have paper cups to bring down to breakfast ; )….”
”No place to park. For this high price it would be nice to have parking included….”
