TL;DR
- Quiet residential: location on the edge of downtown Flagstaff
- Homey vibe: with a B&B atmosphere
- Family-run: by experienced innkeepers
- Friendly service: and ample amenities
- Check prices here
The northwestern edge of Downtown Flagstaff is a quiet residential area with a small, intimate, boutique B&B tucked among the winding streets.
It’s one of the more homey options in Flagstaff, very much a collection of all your rich, enthusiastic yet slightly eccentric aunts’ guest rooms.
The house is not notably historic, though it is a lovely piece of property. It was opened by a couple with a history in hospitality, who moved to Flagstaff to continue living their dream.
And the house shows the love. Between the friendly service, the ample amenities and the tranquil location, your vacation is made.
What are the rooms like?
- Number of rooms: 4 total for a cozy, intimate stay
- Uniform layout: but with unique color-coded decor
- Modern amenities: like air-con, smart TVs, and radiant heat
- Large windows: with bay seating and natural light
There are only 4 rooms at 303, guaranteeing exclusive attention and a close atmosphere. If you enjoy a sense of anonymity, this isn’t for you.
If, however, you like a closer atmosphere, you won’t be disappointed.
Rooms are named by color, but otherwise relatively uniform. They all have air-con, radiant heat, smart TVs, work areas, robes and coffee and tea capabilities.
The decor is unique, with each room sporting a color-coded 3D accent wall with varying patterns. Furnishings, linens and wall hangings match the color, in shades of Navy, Purple, Green and Silver.
Windows are large and let in plenty of natural light, some rooms with bay windows and all with areas to lounge around a bit.
What are prices like?
And what’s the food like? Any facilities we should know about?
- Complimentary breakfast: with hot dishes and lighter options
- Lobby games: including ping pong and pool
- Entertainment spaces: like a game room, poker table, shuffleboard, and video games
- Shared kitchenette: plus porch for relaxing afternoons
In true B&B spirit, 303 serves complimentary hot breakfast each morning, alongside a collection of fruity and/or yoghurt-y treats.
You’ll find it in the lobby, alongside a ping pong/pool table. In the other common areas, you can enjoy even more options on an impressive list of house amenities.
They include a game room with a 70″ TV, a poker/game table, a shuffleboard, and video game console. It’s well-stocked with board games and cards.
Additionally, you’ll find a kitchenette with a coffee/tea stand and hostel-style storage for your own goods, and the outside porch is the perfect place to enjoy the afternoon.
How is the neighborhood? Anything interesting nearby?
- 30-minute walk: or quick drive to downtown Flagstaff
- Heritage Square: for cafés, restaurants, and local charm
- Nearby events: at Wheeler Park, theaters, and bars
- Lowell Observatory: less than 10 minutes away
- Day trips: to Sedona, Lockett Meadow, and Wukoki Monument
Downtown Flagstaff is a bit of a way away from the 303, so if you were hoping to walk back from one of the many local breweries, you’ll be walking a while.
In the daytime, it’s not a bad walk downtown, roughly half an hour.
Most of the local cafés and restaurants are an easy distance of Heritage Square, which feels like the center of historic downtown.
It’s a super-charming and easy place to wander around.
The restaurant scene is nothing to scoff at, either, so choose your cuisine and let the innkeepers lead the way.
If you like events, you’ll find a few cool event venues, including a community theater, some hip bars, and of course a nice selection of taphouses. Wheeler Park is a popular festival ground if you get your scheduling right.
The NAU Campus is a bit further, a 10-minute drive or a 40-minute walk. We might suggest getting the four wheels out if you have University business.
And it’s the kind of town you’ll want to have a car for, because you wouldn’t want to come to Flagstaff and miss the hills.
Less than 10 minutes from the Inn is the Lowell Observatory, stargazing heaven up in the hills near Downtown.
They’ve got multiple telescopes and a museum next to.
If you lengthen the drive up to an hour, you can get to any number of stunning natural attractions.
Lockett Meadow and the Wukoki Nat’l Monument are around 50 minutes away, gorgeous areas to hike around.
Make Sedona a day trip, as both the artsy, nature-loving town and the surrounding area have much to explore.
