In May 2021, Covent Garden greeted this loving tribute to the iconic Manhattan boutique hotel & Michelin-starred restaurant.
The NYC original, like many other hotels, closed its doors in 2021.
Since then, the Hilton-backed NoMad London has rapidly risen to the top tier of the city’s hotels.
Of course, we wish all the independent boutiques closed during the pandemic had the means to up off to another city for a fresh start.
But, this doesn’t take away from the fact that NoMad having had the chance, did so with real flair.
There’s plenty of the European glamour of the original hotel, lent a bit of gravitas by the heavy London stone.
It is still notably French, and we love the irony that they chose to move to London.
The orientalist touches, the velvet, the greenery, the lilting sunlight through floor-to-ceiling windows, they all give Degas’s Montmartre studio in a sanitized Prime Video take on the rise of Impressionism.
Jeremy Allen White stars as Claude Monet.
Back to the lecture at hand, this is the place where Hilton-level comfort meets Parisian-inspired luxury meets Beaux-Arts nostalgia.
In London or in New York, it’s absolutely worth a visit.

- Suite upgrades: Larger spaces with dining, bathtubs, or sofa beds.

With wall art that screams 1920s, furnishings giving 1820s, rooms offer an overview of luxury with something for everyone.
There’s a black and white base, we think, but it’s surpassed by jewel-toned velvets, contrasting curtains and touches of warm damask.
Starting at 23m² Classics, the rooms are on the smaller side for such a luxury brand.
It’s all very New York, and in keeping with that guests should be aware that you’ll want a Suite for spaciousness.
Superior options have seating and little breakfast tables.
Once you get up to the Royal Opera Suite we’ve got a sofa bed, bathtub, and dining area.
The perfect modest option would be the Parlour Suite, basically a studio with a small separation between the king bed and the sitting area.
All options have lovely marble-mosaic bathrooms. Your basic room amenities include a 50-inch HDTV, robes and slippies, mini bars with kettles, espresso machines and blackout curtains.

And what’s the food like? Any facilities we should know about?
- French flair: Restaurants inspired by brasserie traditions with a modern edge.
- Two dining styles: Upscale Twenty8 NoMad and casual Side Hustle.
- Drinks & bars: Subterranean cocktail space and the guest-only Library Lounge.
- Wellness: Fitness centre plus exclusive treatments with Katie England.
- Events: Multiple private spaces for social or professional gatherings.
We don’t think we’ll surprise anyone when we reveal that the inspiration behind the onsite restaurants is French.
Twenty8 NoMad has the bones of a brasserie, with an international perspective that blends fine dining and modern hospitality seamlessly.
The food is top-notch, generally upscale takes on classics like rosemary-dusted Steak Frites and a peach and burrata flatbread.
Drinks are also classics, a great place to get your martini on.
If that’s all a bit high-end for an everyday lunch, head to Side Hustle, the hotel’s more casual option.
They’ve got a menu inspired by Southern California, which we guess is the height of casual.
There’s a lavish subterranean cocktail space available for private rentals, but our personal favourite is the Library.
This guests-only nook overlooks the Royal Opera House, serving a super-sophisticated menu of delightful cocktails, small plates, and a bookish, upitty atmosphere.
With an onsite fitness centre and a collaboration with facial experts Katie England, your body will be impeccably taken care of.
Professionally or socially, there are many spaces available for private rental and events.

And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?
Some things guests liked:
“This property is amazing from the moment we stepped out of the cab until the moment we left! The rooms were perfect, clean, comfortable, and the air conditioning was wonderful. The rooms were very quiet. We had 2 rooms right next to one another. The shower was great! The concierge was so helpful, and made great recommendations. We had a little hiccup at the end where we extended our checkout by an hour the night before, but the staff hadn’t communicated it to morning staff, but they were gracious and it wound up not being a problem. The location is very central and you can walk to restaurants, the theater and shopping. Can’t recommend highly enough….”
“ Second time staying at this hotel. This is an amazing hotel , very quiet and private. Excellent service and friendly staff. Would highly recommend this hotel to stay in when in London. I hope to return in the near future….”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”A bit too dark….”
”No magnifying mirror….”
