A boutique hotel stay in Polanco, Mexico City, is sure going to put you in upscale territory, but Campos Polanco takes that up a notch or two.
There are only 12 suites in this gorgeous building, and the residential quality makes each space feel like some celebrity apartment turned museum.
Except, you are the celebrity, it’s not a museum, and your fantasy of sipping a glass of mezcal on the rooftop surrounded by lush plants and fellow chic socialites is about to come true.
Of course, this type of travel isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Polanco itself has a sense of affluent oasis, and Campos takes this and runs with it.
If you’re looking for holes in the wall full of locals, street tacos, and elusive authenticity, we’ll find you something else.
It’s not cheap too, that’s for sure, but if you want a luxurious boutique hotel in a super swanky neighborhood, Campos Polanco is for you.
What are the rooms like?
- 12-room property: with a mix of elegant suites and stylish studios.
- Spacious residences: include full kitchens and upscale amenities.
- Even entry-level rooms: have charm, comfort, and thoughtful design.
- Modern conveniences: like Chromecast, Nespresso, minibars, and workspaces.

There are a few different styles of suites at Campos Polanco but all of them share the same refined elegance.
We love the handsome, dark style of the Campos Residence, the biggest and most grand on the property.
We’re talking 1500 square feet, soaking tubs in the bedroom, all the perks.
Two-bedroom residences with full kitchens are formed by combining various rooms and common areas on each of the floors.
Yet even your “basic” rooms have more than enough charm. Park Studios and Terraces have the printed wallpaper and cutesy throws of a well-designed contemporary boutique.
There’s less elegance, but they’re undeniably pleasant, starting at 318 square feet.
And they’re well-equipped with all basic amenities, including a closet with a vanity, working area, TV with Chromecast, mini bar, Nespresso machine, and gorgeous mosaic-adorned bathrooms.
What are prices like?
And what’s the food like? Any facilities we should know about?
- Residential style: means no full restaurant but high-personalization.
- Breakfast & mezcal hour: served in the Lounge.
- Private dining options: arranged on request.
- Charming communal spaces: including rooftop, library, and lounge.
- Concierge support: for tailored experiences.
Campos Polanco has a strong residential feel, meaning there is no active restaurant as such.
There is breakfast service and mezcal hour, in the Lounge, and plenty of opportunities to arrange private dining experiences.
It’s a ‘you dream it, they make it happen’ kind of place.
Numerous social spaces are open for rentals, some simply for socializing with your party or other guests.
The Azotea rooftop terrace is bright and charming, while La Sala combines fireplace and windows for a cheerful coziness.
La Biblioteca is the most sultry, another fireplace-warmed area full of dark wood, books, and a private balcony.
If you’d rather explore outside the residence, the concierge will be more than capable of helping you plan.
How is the neighborhood? Anything interesting nearby?
- Upscale Polanco: offers a peaceful, oasis-like feel.
- Close to parks: including Republica Del Líbano Garden and Chapultepec.
- Nearby museums: like Museo Soumaya and others in the park.
- Easy transport: with hotel vehicle; short drives to Roma, Condesa, Coyoacán.
Polanco is an island-like part of Mexico City, tucked on the western side.
It’s not fully cut off from the rest of the city, but it’s beyond easy to avoid the bustle on these wide, tree-lined streets.
Campos Polanco has an excellent location towards the south of the neighborhood, on the border of the Republica Del Líbano Garden.
If you’re a walker, you can relatively easily navigate yourself on a lovely stroll through avenues and parks to get to the grand Bosque de Chapultepec.
This giant park is packed with activities, including multiple museums, a zoo, plenty of fountains, little meditative spaces, and more.
The best museum in the area, however, is arguably Museo Soumaya. It features an excellent collection of European art in a one-of-a-kind building.
This option is a half-hour walk through the neighborhood, or an easy 6-minute drive.
Getting to other neighborhoods will be easier with wheels. The hotel has a personal vehicle available for guests.
Roma and Condesa are about 10 minutes away, while the cultural offerings of Coyoacán are more like 20.
And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?
Some things guests liked:
“It was a small, elegant, boutique hotel with lots of amenities. What made the difference was the whole staff. From the morning breakfast staff to the front desk staff to the evening staff, to the drivers and the cleaning group. The team makes a great difference!…”
“Quiet and boutique. 40’s-meets-modern aesthetic and décor. Staff were very friendly, courteous, and attentive. The room was literally a full apartment with a living room, kitchen, guest bathroom, and balcony. The room temperature was great and the bed/pillows were a dream. The shower area was huge and boasted two shower heads with excellent water pressure. Despite having no restaurant on site, breakfast was simple, yet delicious. Gym is very clean and adequate, with a nice view of the neighboring park. Location is great in the glitzy Polanco neighborhood….”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”There is no restaurant or pool in the hotel….”
”The desk staff wears cologne that is a bit overwhelming. The smell of it fills the lobby and is not comfortable….”
