Just moments from Saint Mark’s Square, Nolinski Venezia offers an even more polished than average take on the luxury Venice city break
It’s part of the French hospitality group Evok, whose boutique hotels have quietly established themselves in some of Europe’s most charming cities.
Style-wise, it goes for neither the truly historic nor the contemporary. It sits somewhere mid-20th-century, and is never less than elegant.
Classic dark woods and brass are woven throughout, and though it isn’t exactly big, and you’d never accuse it of being extravagant, Nolinski Venezia has the most grandeur of all our chosen boutique hotels in Venice.
It’s a luxury hotel with excellent fine dining, a handsome library bar, and spa facilities, so it also offers more facilities than most similar places.
Prices reflect that though, their Classic Rooms are the most expensive entry-level rooms on our list, though prices vary widely by season.
Deluxe Rooms and especially Suites are of course, expensive too, but are (relatively speaking), we feel, more appropriately priced.
What are the rooms like?
- 43 rooms: – elegant accommodation with a luxurious mid-century feel.
- Refined interiors: – marble, dark woods, and arched windows create understated glamour.
- Great upgrades: – Deluxe and Superior Rooms add more space, style, and occasional bathtubs.
- Stylish suites: – art books, bespoke furnishings, and subtle details elevate the atmosphere.
- Private balconies: – many Junior and Deluxe Suites include balconies.
- Apartment feel: – Master Suites offer extra privacy and space for longer stays or small groups.

Rooms are all about classic elegance and luxury, but with the modern facilities any good luxury hotel needs.
There’s a lot of marble, but not in the shiny, brassy, over-the-top opulence sense.
Nope, the stonework here is paired with dark wood accents and arched windows that let in the perfect amount of light.
Classic Rooms are the simplest, easy, breezy 22 square metre spaces.
Deluxe and Superior rooms have more space, a bit more zhush, and some come with bathtubs.
Suites are gorgeous, if you’re in the market, beautifully, uniquely furnished with the Nolinski touch.
Art books stack on the shelves, unique wall pieces and molding you don’t even notice until you’re trying to find out why the space just looks and feels right.
Junior through Deluxe Suites offer small balconies where you can catch some sun and admire the gorgeousness of Venice.
Master Suites are more like private flats than anything, great for small groups or anyone who loves privacy and space as much as luxury, and can afford it.
The suites are generally the most popular at Nolinski Venezia, so expect to book ahead.

And what’s the food like? Any facilities we should know about?
- Fine dining: – French and Mediterranean influences create a polished restaurant experience.
- Library bar: – thousands of books and a strong drinks menu make it a standout social space.
- Luxury spa: – Ottoman-inspired wellness facilities focus on indulgent treatments and relaxation.
- Signature treatments: – bespoke facials and massages are available in the myBlend suite.
- Indoor rooftop pool: – more spa-style plunge pool than swimming pool, but cosy and atmospheric.
Nolinski Venezia’s part-Mediterranean, part-purely-French hotel restaurant is a definite draw for a delightful, fine dining experience.
It’s got the flair of a bistro, for a dining experience distinct from the standard small plates and spritzes in the square.
Still, we’re partial to a more casual option, the Library Bar. It’s a cosy, lobby bar with thousands of books, and a broad drinks menu, what more can we really ask?
And then there’s the spa, a delightful, Ottoman-inspired space tailor-made for pampering. Their myBlend Nolinski Treatment Suite is where you’ll find a variety of bespoke facials and massages.
What they call their rooftop pool is more a giant hot tub, and it’s indoors. It feels cosy, and indulgent, spa-like, and we love the gold tiling, but would prefer it more al-fresco, especially when the views are hindered by the quite small windows.
How is the neighbourhood? Anything interesting nearby?
- Prime location: – steps from Saint Mark’s Square and Venice’s major attractions.
- Tourist heart: – busy surroundings but excellent for first-time visitors ticking off highlights.
- Easy wandering: – central position makes spontaneous canal walks especially tempting.
- Great vaporetto access: – nearby water buses connect easily to Rialto, Murano, and Lido.
- Local contrast: – nearby Accademia offers a more youthful, local-focused atmosphere.
The is the centre of the Venetian tourist experience, and you’ll appreciate the calm of Nolinski’s rooftop or cosy bar after stepping outside.
Saint Mark’s Square is a must-have Venice experience, though, and the hotel is perfectly situated for easy access to it and other must-have experiences.
This means plenty of crowded tourist spaces, but it also makes a standard tourist bucket list easier to finish
Then it being so central makes it easy to idly wander the canals, and on and off the vaporetto to random other bits of the city.
Take the boat out to Rialto for some excellent shopping, an afternoon aperativo and to admire the famous bridge.
We’d say take a walk to Ponte dell’Accademia for a more local, student-y vibe, and easy access to a lot of the city’s main, also more locally focused, cultural and entertainment sites.
The San Marco vaporetto can also connect you to all the nearby islands, from Lido to Murano.
And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?
Some things guests liked:
“Stunning hotel. I think the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed in. Comfortable, luxurious rooms. Large shower. Lovely rooftop swimming pool ( more of a giant hot tub) with panoramic views of the city.
Gorgeous library/ bar.
Exceptionally polite and helpful staff….”
“Nolinski obviously put care and effort into every aspect of their lovely hotel, their taste is impeccable and they invest the same effort in caring for their guests. I felt pampered just by looking around the room, and truly spoiled anytime we interacted with the staff. You don’t get a strong sense of the original Venetian Stock Exchange that houses the hotel, but they make you feel like you were one of the original investors!…”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”If I was being picky, it would have been good to have a kettle/ coffee maker in the room….”
”Pool is rather a large jacuzzi – but could not fault anything else….”
