The Baglioni brand is well-regarded in Italy, for good reason, but we think Casa Baglioni Milan feels fresher than their other offerings.
There’s a simple kind of style here, which we like a lot. More beautiful panels and clever lighting than a large chandelier and carved marble.
With the Baglioni brand comes excellent service and top-notch amenities, including a restaurant led by a Michelin-starred chef.
Those seeking historical intrigue or extravagant opulence may prefer elsewhere.
Casa Baglioni is relatively modern, and it’s sophisticated, confident, and impeccably executed.
Our one major gripe? The price! There are no, relatively cheap, entry-level rooms to be had here, unfortunately.
What are the rooms like?
- 32 rooms: – Spacious contemporary accommodation ranging from guestrooms to house-sized suites.
- Modern styling: – Sleek wood finishes, clever lighting, and understated luxury throughout.
- Suite highlights: – Top-floor views, private terraces, and an enormous Presidential Suite.
- Luxury touches: – Coffee machines, minibars, robes, slippers, and thoughtful in-room comforts.

Rooms are quite hotel-y, nothing like upgraded historic palazzos with their random collections of differently sized rooms.
At Casa Baglioni Milan you can easily see what you’ll get, from comfortable guestrooms to suites the size of small houses.
Even the rooms are spacious, the smallest coming in at 28 square metres.
These basic options have the hotel’s typical decor: lots of sleek wood with cleverly lit recessed spaces full of attractive curios.
It’s not mind-blowing design, but it’s not boring either, and we think it works perfectly with the rest of the hotel.
There’s no attempt here to be anything other than good-looking and pleasant, and who doesn’t warm to both those things?
Rooms are straightforward, Deluxe options with baths or balconies, and Junior Suites are not too different.
The upper-level suites are fabulous.
Many are top-floor, making for great views, and the lower-floor options have nice terraces.
The Presidential Suite is almost 140 square metres, including a terrace that might well be larger than the guest rooms downstairs.
Whatever you choose, you’ll enjoy excellent mini bars, robes and slippers, and a coffee machine in the room.

And what’s the food like? Any facilities we should know about?
- Michelin restaurant: – Refined Italian dining overseen by Michelin-starred chef Claudio Sadler.
- Wine experiences: – Private tastings available in the hotel’s impressive wine cellar.
- Rooftop bar: – Aperitivi, small plates, and excellent city views.
- Fitness facilities: – A well-equipped gym rounds out the hotel’s amenities.
The onsite Sadler Restaurant, under Michelin-Starred Chef Claudio Sadler.
It has an expectedly sleek, stylish dining hall. The food is slated as a reappraisal of traditional Italian regional cuisine.
We’d recommend the padellata di crostacei (pan-fried shellfish) or filetto di cernia.
Arrange a visit to the hotel’s wine cellar too if you’re staying. Here you can arrange private tastings of some spectacular vintages.
If you’d prefer to stay casual, head up to the rooftop bar. It offers incredible views, crisp aperativos, and tasty small plates just made to accompany sunsets.
We think the rooftop is one of the best-designed spaces in Casa Baglioni, a nice selection of brightly coloured but unobtrusive furnishings tucked between short walls of jasmine flowers.
A, better-equipped and spacious than most, fitness center rounds out the facilities.
How is the neighbourhood? Anything interesting nearby?
- Historic Brera: – Milan’s elegant arts district filled with galleries, culture, and beautiful architecture.
- Major sights: – Easy walking distance to the Duomo, Teatro alla Scala, and Sforzesco Castle.
- Cultural attractions: – Close to museums, gardens, and the famous Pinacoteca di Brera.
- Metro access: – Montenapoleone station connects you easily with the rest of Milan.
Milan’s Brera district has been a hot spot for centuries.
It’s the historic artsy centre, at one point probably vaguely bohemian, but any grunge is long since gone.
Instead, you have a sea of gorgeous buildings, within walking distance of most of the city’s top attractions.
Casa Baglioni is an easy 15-minute walk to the centre of town and the Duomo. Sforzesco Castle is 15 minutes in the other direction.
Even closer are Teatro alla Scala, Pinacoteca di Brera, and Giardini Indro Montanelli with its contemporary art and natural history museums.
You’re near either superb fine dining or touristy spots, and we would never begrudge anyone wanting to explore a little further.
Montenapoleone, on the same line as the central train station, is your local metro stop here and will hook you up with the rest of the city easily.
And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?

“Amazing service, clean hotel and staff very accommodating and helpful. Highly recommend. Everything was amazing. From hotel gym to breakfast to housekeeping….”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”Expensive but compared to neighboring similar properties – it’s greater value for money….”
