Why We Like It:
The Dylan, Dublin’s only 5-star boutique hotel, has 72 rooms neatly tucked away just steps from Baggot Street and the Grand Canal.
Recently redesigned and renovated to great effect it certainly looks the part. More modern in style now post-renovation of course it still displays oodles of old-style elegance.
The rooms are spacious and luxurious, the staff are highly praised, the food is of the highest order and the hotel bar is lively and friendly.
Rooms:
Each room is somewhat unique in style, and they come in three different levels – Luxury, Deluxe, and what they refer to as Experience rooms – suites essentially.
There’s not a lot to choose between their entry-level ‘Luxury Rooms’ and the Deluxe level, except for some extra space (26 m² as opposed to 20) and a few extra fancy design features.
The suites are nicely done, but not, at 30 m², a huge amount larger than the Deluxe, though they do have a separate living space with a sofa-bed to accommodate a couple of extra guests if needed.
All accommodation features some lovely handmade furniture pieces, Good Food Ireland complimentary hospitality trays, Nespresso machines, iPod docks, and smart bathrooms with top-of-the-range showers.

Food, Drink & Facilities:
The Eddison with outdoor veranda seating, is open for top-notch, made-to-order breakfasts, plus some beautifully fresh and inventive, contemporary Irish cuisine for lunch and dinner.
The Dylan bar is a cozy, intimate place that has an extensive pub food menu – classics such as burgers and club sandwiches as well as various soups, salads, pastas, etc.
It also has a good range of beers, spirits, fine wines, and cocktails.
There is a heated outdoor patio here, The Nurserie Terrace, which has table service from the bar’s menu, and a separate, very cute and cozy, guests-only bar, the Ruby Room, open every evening.
There is no gym at the hotel but residents can access the Aorta gym, just around the corner. There’s secure parking at The Dylan and, by all accounts, a very good concierge service.
Location:
The hotel is on a calm side street a few steps from Dublin’s Grand Canal and Baggot Street which has a few lively pubs, cafes and restaurants.
Grafton Street, St. Stephen’s Green, and the South City Center are a pleasant 20-minute stroll away.
Some Guest Reviews:
“Fab boutique hotel, 20 mins walk from Grafton Street. The bar was great for drinks, staff super friendly. Hotel manager during the day was amazing! nothing would slip by her……”
“The team could not do enough to make our visit special. It was my 40th and between a selection of cakes in the room on arrival to more after dining, and a small token for the children (they were at home with their grandparents), they thought of everything. Thank you to you all…..”
