The Dean Hotel Galway

In 2022 The Dean expanded its small collection of Irish boutique hotels to Galway and it became an immediate success. Youthful and stylish without feeling contrived, it’s a collection of natural wood, low lighting and mod colours that is well-designed and hip. Some rooms definitely err on the small side, but they have good entry level pricing for such a nice hotel. And, with plenty of common areas and a pretty excellent gym, it all adds to the good value. You’ll find bold, mod patterning in every room, so if… > Read Our Full Review

Park House Hotel

Park House Hotel, in the centre of Galway, is one of those classic hotels that seems to have been there forever, and is as much known by locals as tourists. Well-established then for sure, and also vaguely historic. The stone-walled, small-windowed exteriors look like they could be hiding a gang of 19th-century sailors, the interiors a collection of wealthy tourists from the 1990s. Park House Hotel has solid old-time aesthetics. Lots of moulded wood, worn leather, and classically ornate, but cosy, carpeting. It’s from a time when luxury meant formal… > Read Our Full Review

The g Hotel & Spa, Galway

The g (yes, lower case – more silly branding decisions for us to admire) is a mildly ostentatious Galway City boutique hotel, which gives a sandwich of first impressions. The building is modern, sure, but nothing gives away too much from the outside. The little circular roof bits are cute, and even the colourful nighttime lighting is more cool than flamboyant. Once you enter The g Hotel, however, the party starts. Solidly in the camp of somewhat camp, design-forward, boutique hotels, the lobby, restaurants, and meeting areas shine with sumptuous… > Read Our Full Review

Glenlo Abbey Hotel

A luxury boutique hotel with a unique dining experience and lovely grounds for wandering, Glenlo Abbey Hotel, outside Galway City, is a relaxing retreat. The atmosphere here is one of freshness, wellness, and relaxation. They feature extensive wellness programs along with plenty of other activities. The food is a major attraction, with their Pullman Restaurant having two retired cars from the Orient Express as part of the dining hall. Glenlo is a bit far out from Galway City, but can be a good base for exploring the famously beautiful countryside… > Read Our Full Review

HYDE Hotel, Galway

HYDE is a sleek, contemporary boutique hotel in the centre of Galway, with a good social scene. It’s not trying to reinvent any formulas, but as a hotel it’s straightforward, stylish and likable. The once mod-looking building certainly catches the eye, though we aren’t entirely charmed by the exteriors.. It’s not the look that suits Galway, maybe, though it does add some variety to the streetscape. But nonetheless, once in the door of the HYDE you’re in excellent hands. The onsite bar is popular with all sorts of people, and… > Read Our Full Review
