Hotel Singulier is a chic collection of luxurious rooms paired with top-notch amenities that can make your stay in the Pearl of Aquitaine feel extra decadent.
Expect loads of marble, plush textiles, and rich decor. This is Real Housewives of Disney territory; all deep emeralds and dusty pinks in a fairy-tale take on Strawberry Matcha.
For many, most of Hotel Singulier’s appeal is the design and decor, but the amenities sure measure up too, in our opinion.
There’s an elegant spa, fine dining, and a stunner of a rooftop terrace, all designed to indulge.
The one little downside (for some, not all) is that the historic building cannot accommodate a lift.
The exceptional staff is more than ready to help you with your luggage, and there is one ground-floor room for those with mobility concerns.
A budget-friendly option this is not, we won’t lie. Still, anyone who appreciates a good pamper is unlikely to leave Hotel Singulier disappointed.
What are the rooms like?
- Eight rooms – every room combines high-end linens, refined decoration and individual character.
- Varied interiors – expect handsome dark moulding, soft wicker furnishings, rose-coloured curtains and dramatic murals.
- Marble bathrooms – rooms feature spectacular marble bathrooms and freestanding soaking tubs.
- Special touches – number 11 has a cushioned window seat, while Number 30 surrounds its soaking tub with black-and-white marble.

Rooms at Hotel Singulier carry on the rich intimacy of the rest of the hotel, with an added dose of cosy to the mix.
Linens, of course, are top-notch, decor is chic and refined, with enough creature comforts to keep from feeling sterile.
Ceilings are high, mirrors are plentiful, and things feel sunny and cheerful, while elegant.
Rooms vary in decor, from some dark gray moulding that comes off handsome to the feminine touch of soft wicker furnishings and rose-coloured curtains.
They range a bit in amenities, but not significantly. Some have murals, a select few feature bathtubs that sit invitingly in the centre of the room.
We especially love the cushioned windowseats in Number 11, a double room with a charming marble niche in the otherwise dusty pink walls.
If that’s not enough marble, check out Number 30, a Junior Suite where the soaking tub is surrounded by black and white marble walls and plenty of mirrors.
Whatever you choose, we don’t think you’ll be disappointed, we’d just recommend checking first if a bathtub is non-negotiable.
All Hotel Singulier accommodation offers mini bars, smart TVs and climate control.
What are prices like?
And what’s the food like? Any facilities we should know about?
- French breakfast – an à la carte morning spread prepared by the hotel’s in-house pastry chef.
- All-day treats – French-inspired delicacies and pastries are available throughout the day in the rooms or common areas.
- Intimate spa – a beautifully designed treatment space with a jacuzzi and bookable treatment room.
- Rooftop terrace – a gorgeous elevated spot with city views, perfect for an afternoon drink.
We love a design hotel with solid facilities, and thus we love Hotel Singulier.
Breakfast is prepared by the in-house pastry chef (in France!), served à la carte in a dining area just as beautiful as you might expect.
Catering and pastry services continue throughout the day, with a small menu of delicacies available to the room or in the common area.
They’re focused on French ingredients and culinary traditions, but with plenty of inventiveness and great eye for presentation.
It’s the kind of food you don’t want to eat at first, but then are very happy that you did.
The onsite spa is small but mighty, in an unsurprisingly well-designed space.
It feels subterranean in the best of ways, like a sandstone quarry filled with aesthetically pleasing rocks.
Book early to take advantage of the treatment room, but the jacuzzi is always available.
The rooftop terrace is the cherry literally on top, a gorgeous space with incredible views seemingly made for an afternoon glass of wine.
How is the neighbourhood? Anything interesting nearby?
- Triangle d’Or – a prestigious central neighbourhood surrounded by Bordeaux’s restaurants, museums, historic sights and designer shops.
- Nearby sights – Porte Dijeaux is across the street, while the Museum of Fine Arts and Cathédrale Saint-André are only minutes away.
- Riverfront access – the Garonne and Monument aux Girondins are less than 15 minutes away on foot.
- Across the river – La Bastide and the Darwin cultural centre offer a more bohemian contrast, with Jardin Botanique for a greener option.
Tucked in the upscale pleasures of Triangle d’Or, Hotel Singulier makes it easy to get out and about.
The immediate area boasts enough culinary fun, historical sites, and museum action to keep you occupied for days.
Porte Dijeaux is basically accross the street, the Museum of Fine Arts just a 5-minute walk away.
This walk will also take you through the small, charming Jardins de la Mairie, next to the must-see Cathédrale Saint-André.
Or, venture further. The waterfront-adjacent Monument aux Girondins is less than 15 minutes on foot, and once you hit the Garonne everything opens up.
Walk along the riverbank, or pop across towards the more bohemian vibes of La Bastide’s riverfront and Darwin cultural centre.
If you’d still prefer to stay posh, catch an open-air concert at the lush Jardin Botanique.
And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?
Some things guests liked:
“What I appreciated most about Hôtel Singulier was the genuinely personal touch that defined our entire stay. As a boutique hotel with only a handful of rooms, it offers a level of attentiveness that is difficult to find elsewhere. The staff quickly felt like our own private concierge, taking care of every detail—from thoughtful restaurant recommendations tailored to weekend closures and local events, to organizing spa treatments and parking with remarkable efficiency…..”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”Given the intimate size of the property, it is perfectly understandable that there is no on-site fitness center….”
