Nobis Copenhagen, like its sister boutique hotels, is a reliable source of comfort and indulgence for any Nordic travels.
It’s nicely situated on the edge of one of Copenhagen’s most popular neighbourhoods, plus super close to much sightseeing.
Being next door to the famous Tivoli Gardens is an extra plus.
The hotel itself occupies a renovated 1903 building, a lovely construction with a deftly designed interior.
The atmosphere is one of quiet but cheery sophistication. Spaces are large and windows are set to let in plenty of precious Nordic sun.
It’s not the most unique of decor jobs, though there are some lovely ornate touches throughout and we’re happy to let the building do most of the talking anyway.
It originally served as the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music, and still sports a stunning sculptural pediment that will welcome you home each day.
If you hanker for a little fancy, a little modern, and a little historical, all at once, Nobis is the spot.
And, it’s pleasantly, agreeably priced for such a luxury hotel in central Copenhagen.
What are the rooms like?
- 75 rooms: From 18 sqm Superiors to the 91 sqm Nobis Suite.
- Moody palette: Deep blues, warm greys, copper leather, and striking marble bathrooms.
- Creative layouts: Lofted rooms and spacious Junior Lofts add variety.
- Well equipped: Minibars, climate control, coffee machines, with extras in Deluxe Rooms and Suites.

Guest rooms and suites are all clean lines, but with historic looking ornate touches here and there.
We love how the colours get together, the deep blues, warm greys and coppery leathers, and how all are allowed plenty of sunlight.
Modern stylish steel bed frames give everything a masculine air, but like, an Idris Elba type freshly-shaven, suave masculinity.
They start at 18 square metre Superior options, perfect for one person, but also doable for two.
Other options include lofted rooms, which are lovely little testaments to creative Danish design.
Suites start at Junior Lofts, which might be our favourites, and go up to the super grand 91 square metre Nobis Suite.
All rooms include minibars, climate control, coffee machines, and some especially eye catching, black and white and grey, marble bathrooms.
Suites and Deluxe Rooms feature extras like welcome gifts, speakers, bathtubs and more.
What are prices like?
And what’s the food like? Any facilities we should know about?
- Refined dining: NOI restaurant serving elevated European cuisine.
- Marble Bar: Scandinavian cocktails, caviar, and strong non-alcoholic options.
- Wellness perks: Fitness centre, sauna, hammam, and cold plunge pool onsite.
- Meeting ready: Multiple meeting and event spaces available.
High-end NOI is the main restaurant onsite, featuring tasty takes on a range of European cuisines.
It’s a nice space, too, there’s lots of buttery leather (pleather?) and mirrors and other shiny surfaces.
Many reservations include a voucher for the restaurant, and we think it has a particularly lovely breakfast.
We think we might prefer Nobis Copenhagen’s bar. With a name like The Marble Bar, we think you can probably picture it pretty well.
And it’s just as nice as you imagine. Then there’s their caviar and some fantastic Scandinavian-inspired cocktails.
We’re pleasantly surprised to see an impressive list non-alcoholic options there as well.
Once you’re fed and watered, you’ll be happy to know Nobis also has a fitness centre, sauna, cold plunge pool, and hammam onsite.
There are plenty of event and meeting spaces available for rent as well.
How is the neighbourhood? Anything interesting nearby?
- Best of both: Between central sightseeing and trendier districts.
- Walkable sights: Nyhavn, Tivoli Gardens, City Hall, and major museums nearby.
- Nightlife access: Easy reach of Vesterbro for bars and dining.
Nobis Copenhagen has an excellent location that splits the different between a great tourism spot and a great hangout spot.
To one side is Downtown, which though we mightn’t consider it the coolest part of town, is home to most of the sightseeing.
Kunsthal Charlottenborg, the Memorial Anchor, and the canal-side Nyhavn are an easy walk. Tivoli Gardens, City Hall and the National Museum are minutes away.
Or, you can head in the other direction towards the currently very popular Vesterbro.
This is the place for drinking, eating and just hanging out. It’s about a 20-minute walk from the hotel.
Another option we like for nightlife is the more bohemian, less gentrified, Nørrebro. It’s about 45 minutes walk though, so bike or public transport.
And what about the reviews? What did other guests think?
Some things guests liked:
“Comfy beds. Room very quiet considering it was facing the road. Triple glazing worked very well. Amazing watching the bustle of hundreds of cyclists going by during the rush hour. Art gallery/museum next door very good & loved Tivoli Gardens which was also very close. Also recommend the boat tour round the harbour. The hotel is in a great location in the centre of things. Did not need a car – used buses to get around. Room very clean & lovely toiletries in the bathroom….”
“Wonderful location. Gym and wellness center were amazing. The bar staff was exceptional and the restaurant wonderful as well….”
Some things guests didn’t like:
”Could have been more gluten free options at breakfast…”
”Housekeeping was hit or miss. Two of the nights we didn’t get turndown service but were able to get more water and towels by speaking to management….”
