Hotel Sanders Copenhagen is a beautifully varied space, with a strong focus on service, and love for a natural look.
It occupies a charming 1869 home in the central, historic district of Gammelholm.
The space is done up in a chic yet down-to-earth style, which reads upscale without feeling snobby.
Glimmers of minimalism with plenty of natural texture make for a space that feels comfortable, but never too casual.
There are multiple restaurants, a lively bar, plenty of common areas, and a nice variety of accommodations.
Proximity to the centre of the city is fantastic, but the real takeaway is the super-helpful staff dedicated to curating a perfect Copenhagen stay.

Rooms at Hotel Sanders match the clean yet natural feel of the rest of the hotel.
We’re talking quite a lot of wicker, but in a stylish sense, monochromatic yet muted colour schemes, and unique wall hangings that have a bit of a local gallery vibe.
Though room options start with notably small 13-15 square foot Single and Double Rooms, things are generally comfortable in size.
These options are great for solo travellers or very compatible couples on a budget. Even better, it’s pretty easy to snag something a bit larger.
Sanders bedrooms, Plus Bedrooms, and Suites all offer plenty of space and a nice amount of variety.
Large windows let in plenty of natural light, with cosy armchairs sporting furniture fresh from a Netflix Jane Austen adaptation.
You know, the kind that looks pretty and fancy and isn’t even trying to get close to historical accuracy.
One-bedroom Suites are mostly just giant versions of the guestrooms, while the Sanders Suite offers superb swathes of luxury, complete with a fireplace and soaking tub.
All rooms have the creature comforts of walk-in showers, minibars, robes and slippers, and tea and coffee capabilities.

- Rooftop retreat: Plant-filled space ideal for breakfast, coffee, or cocktails.
- Signature dining: Sanders Kitchen serves international dishes in a refined setting.
- Cocktail culture: TATA Bar and weekend rooftop drinks add social buzz.
- Helpful concierge: Spa treatments, local memberships, and special trips arranged with ease.
An impressive number of dining areas make Hotel Sanders perfect for anyone who likes variety, well, like us.
From the breezy, plant-filled Rooftop to the sultry TATA Cocktail bar, you’re sure to find something that matches your freak.
The Rooftop is an all-hours situation simple made for breakfast in good weather.
Or cocktails in good weather. Or, probably, a steamy latte in bad weather, when they’ve covered the space a little bit.
For more fresh air, head to the Courtyard, where you can enjoy every meal snuggled between the hotel walls.
The heart of it all is the Sanders Kitchen, which serves up international delicacies.
With the same friendly yet sophisticated air as the rest of the hotel, they’ll make all your meals feel special yet stress-free.
Finally, we’ve got cocktails, which show up on the Rooftop on weekends.
This lovely event is well worth a visit, but we’re still pretty pleased with the cosy, red-velvety interior of the lounge itself.
Contact the concierge to set up any spa treatments, special trips, or temporary memberships at local facilities.
We don’t love that you have to outsource these things, but we do love how easy they make it.
How is the neighbourhood? Anything interesting nearby?
- Ultra central: Located in the central historic Gammelholm district of Copenhagen.
- Top sights: Minutes from Nyhavn, Kunsthal Charlottenborg, and Rosenborg Castle.
- Easy exploring: Walk to museums or bike to Vesterbro and Nørrebro.
You’ll be walking distance here from most of the top tourist attractions, and not far from cool hangouts.
Hotel Sanders sits right on the edge of historic Gammelholm, minutes from Kunsthal Charlottenborg, the Memorial Anchor, and colourful Nyhavn by the canal.
Rosenborg Castle and the Botanical Garden are a 15-minute walk away, as are City Hall, the Rundetaarn, and the National Museum.
If you’re looking to eat, drink, shop and hang out, you can head to the ever-lively Vesterbro.
It’s about 20 minutes from the hotel, on foot, and a super quick jaunt if you’ve decided, as you should!, to rent a bike.
Nørrebro, 15 mins by bike, is the spot for some vaguely pre-gentrification nightlife, and a more bohemian vibe than most.
